As a wife, she stood as a loyal partner and pillar of strength. As a mother, she wrapped her children in unwavering love. As a grandmother, she brought sweetness and wisdom. As a sister, she remained grounded and strong. As a friend, her giving heart never ceased to pour into others.

Clara lived by the motto, “Only what you do for Christ will last,” and she exemplified this by faithfully serving not only her local church but extended her dedication to the wider body of Christ through district and state-level service, notably as a multi-term President of the Zion District Usher Board. Yet, of all the titles she held and honors she earned, the one that brought her the greatest joy and deepest pride was simply being called “Nana.”

Clara was known by her family as a true “social butterfly.” She had a special knack for connecting with people and left joy wherever she went. She stayed active in her golden years—growing vibrant flowers, and finding joy, laughter, and movement with her friends at the Green County Senior Center.

She is now reunited in glory with her parents, several cherished brothers and sisters, her beloved daughter Janet Edwards, and her dear son Samuel Miller.
