Robert Alfred Harner, 63, of Campbellsville, KY, son of late Robert Guy Harner and Norma Hendershot Harner of Louisville, was born in Ohio on November 8, 1957 and departed this life on Monday, September 27, 2021 at his home in Campbellsville.

 

He had professed his faith in Christ and was affiliated with Disciples of Christ Church. He was a former employee of Wal-Mart and worked in the paint department.

GARY EUGENE MONEY, 68, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Gary Eugene Money, 68, of Campbellsville, KY was born to the late Alton Eugene “Gene” and Mary Dolores Morris Money on July 2, 1953 at Rosary Hospital in Taylor County and departed this life on Wednesday, September 29th, 2021 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville.

 

Gary professed faith in Christ as a young man and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. Gary worked at Winn’s store for men in the early 70’s in retail sales while in High School. Sometimes you could find Gary sneaking away to the back of the store to play Ping Pong with Jeff Eaton. He owned the first Convenient Store in Greensburg, KY in 1983. In the early 1990’s he was the owner/President of All-Dry Inc., through the early 2000’s. Gary loved to take long family road trips where he would yell out the window “I love this country”! Best family memory was the 3-week trip to Durango & Mesa Verde National Park, Grand Canyon, San Diego, LA, Redwood Forest, just to name a few. You could also find him out on Green River Lake on his pontoon boat taking his girls tubing around the lake!

Loris Janel Pruitt Hamilton, 86, of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late James Robert Gowen and Matha Florence Carter Gowen, was born Thursday, September 19, 1935 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Jane Todd Hospital in Greensburg.


She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She was a retired L.P.N. and worked for the Baptist East Hospital for 23 years.

Rev. John Harvey Berry, 38, son of Finis Wayne Berry and Barbara Ann Skaggs Berry of Summersville, KY was born on Monday, December 6, 1982 in Hardin County and passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021 in Campbellsville. 


He was first and foremost a born again Christian and Preacher and was a member of the New Water Baptist Church. He was a former Tooling Machinist for DANA Corporation for 15+ years, until they closed the plant. Bro. Berry was now working as a Service Technician for Instant Aire Heating and Cooling. He was also an avid artist doing pencil art.

Lennie Louise Bryant Corbin, 92, of Campbellsville, KY, a daughter of the late Henry Bryant and Gertrude Cravens Bryant, was born March 2, 1929 in Taylor County, KY. She died at 12:35 A.M. on Friday, September 24, 2021 in Campbellsville. 

 

Louise professed her faith in Christ and her love for the Lord and was a member of Campbellsville First Church of God. Louise retired from of Fruit of the Loom after 38 years of service in 1993 and spent the rest of her long life enjoying her family and working in her many flower beds.

 

She united in marriage to Dimmon Corbin December 22, 1943 and he preceded her in death on March 20, 2009.

Howard was a retired deputy with the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed being on the farm, hunting and being outdoors.

Steven E. Mason, 56, of Campbellsville, KY, son of Rosemary Mitchuson Beverly and the late Leslie Marvin Mason, was born June 11, 1965 in Fayette County, KY. He died at 9:08 P.M., Thursday, September 23, 2021 in Campbellsville. 

 

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church. He had also served as a missionary in Japan for 2 years. Steven was Vice President of Sales & Business Development for Gateway Rack Corporation. He was also former President of the Campbellsville Country Club. Steven enjoyed golf, traveling, good food, UK football and going to Keeneland.  He cherished family time and his grandchildren.

 

He united in marriage to Kim Hayes May 11, 1991.

She loved her fur babies, reading, writing and riding roller coasters, but more importantly loved the Lord, and had a special relationship with her grandchildren and siblings whom she loved dearly.

KENNETH “KENNY BOB” Wilson, 83 of Campbellsville, KY passed away Tuesday in Greensburg at the Green Hill Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness. He was born December 30, 1937 to the late Simpson Grady and Julie Ann (Hughes) Wilson.
 
Mr. Wilson was a well-regarded concrete finisher with a passion for the outdoors. He was noted huntsman and loved trading coins and Indian artifacts. His wife, Mrs. Shirley (Meadows) Wilson, preceded him in death in 2010.

Virginia Clark Mays, 97, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Calvin Bailey and Shellie Pearl (Marples) Bailey, was born in Cincinnati, OH on March 4, 1924 and departed this life peacefully in her home with her loving family by her side on Monday, September 20, 2021.
 

She professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church in Campbellsville. Virginia was a former employee of Taylor Regional Hospital and the Taylor County School System before she retired.

 

She united in marriage to Raymond Clark on October 8, 1943 and preceded her in death in 1979. To this union of marriage 5 children were born. Later, Virginia united in marriage to Ray Mays in 1986 and he preceded her in death in 1990. She was also preceded in death by special relatives: Vance & Ester Baxter, who raised her as their own.

Eva White, 75, daughter of the late Edward E. Hickerson and Elmer Rea Tungate Hickerson Gipson, died Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY. She was born on August 19, 1946 in Oldham County, KY and professed her faith in Christ early in life. 

 

She was united in marriage to Ralph G. White on August 21, 1965.

 

Eva worked for 34 years as a Production Control Specialist at Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and earned her BA in Criminal Justice from Lindsey Wilson College. She retired from the Department of Social Services after working several years as a Social Worker Aid. She was an avid UK sports fan – she loved watching “her” Cats along with family and friends. She also loved geneology, reading, and finding a good bargain.

 

Eva was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Hickerson Perry.

She professed her faith in Christ and was member of Otter Creek Baptist Church.  Frances was an active member of AL-Anon, whom she shared strength and hope with other members and the American Cancer Society. She retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after working 30 plus years as a labeler. Frances was a multi-talented woman with many skills and talents. She had the ability to be a wonderful cook for her family and friends. She loved to crochet and sew in her spare time. Frances loved to find a good book and she had a passion for reading.

 

She united in marriage to Charles Wilson Skaggs on May 13th, 1955 and preceded in her death on March 12th, 1994.

TONY EDWARD MORGAN, 57, GREENSBURG, KY

 
Tony Edward Morgan, 57, of Greensburg, KY, son of the late Jimmie Morgan and Ann Pile Morgan, was born on Sunday, September 13, 1964 and departed this life on Monday, September 13, 2021 at the Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, KY. 

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church, and had currently attended the Grace Union Baptist Church. Tony was a skilled woodworker and was the former owner of Tony Morgan Cabinet Company. He had also been an over-the-road truck driver for many years. Tony was a member of the Greensburg City Council. His proudest achievements, though, were his children and grandchildren, whom he dearly loved spending time with, as well as his beloved dog, Buddy.

Cora Lee Mitchell Young, 68, was born September 12, 1952 in Green County, KY to the late Lewis Johnson Mitchell and Faye Lane Scott Mitchell. She departed this life Saturday, September 11, 2021 at her home in Greensburg.

 

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of 2nd Baptist Church in Greensburg. She was a retired Phlebotomist, having worked at the Sycamore Memorial Hospital for 2 years, Jane Todd Crawford Hospital for 38 years, and 25 years for Green Hill Manor Nursing Home.  

 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death one  sister, Sharon Mitchell; one brother-in-law, Todd Moser; and one great niece, Zhon'a Young.

Ann Olive (Ragsdale) Marsh, 95, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Rev. Cletus C. Ragsdale and Rev. Essie (Cooper) Ragsdale, was born in Alexander County of Cairo, Illinois on November 27, 1925 and departed this life peacefully at her home on Monday, September 13, 2021.
 
Mrs. Marsh professed her faith in Christ and was a member of First Church of God in Campbellsville, KY. She was a registered nurse and served as a public health nurse for over 30 years to help improve the community health thru educating the community of disease and injury prevention.
 
She united in marriage to Mr. Harry Slaton Marsh on December 5, 1956 and he preceded her in death on December 28, 2004.

Arnold Sallee, 83, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Howett Sallee and Sarah Campbell Sallee was born May 21, 1938 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 8:01pmET on Thursday, September 9, 2021 in Evansville, Indiana due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. 


He professed faith in Christ and was an active member of Spurlington United Methodist Church. He was also active with the United Methodist Men. He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom and a lifelong farmer. He especially enjoyed working in tobacco. Arnold was a Christian man, loving husband, understanding father and the best Pa anyone could ask for.

 

He united in marriage to Lola Brown November 2, 1957. Besides his wife, Lola Sallee of Campbellsville;

Gary Rex Ford, 69, of the Summersville Community of Green County, KY passed away Friday September 10, 2021 at his residence. He was born on March 2, 1952 to Mary Ann Booker Ford and the late Rev. Charles G. Ford.

 

Gary joined Jacob Grave Baptist church at an early age. He served in the United States Army and was an Executive Chef. Gary was honorably discharged on October 17, 1978. His mother was faithful about seeing to his needs.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Charles G. Ford and one son, Phillip G. Ford.

Patsy Ann Matney, 62, of Greensburg, KY, daughter of Mary Posey Meadows of Metcalfe County and the late Garland “Tood” Meadows, was born on Friday, February 27, 1959 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow. 


She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Maple Hill United Methodist Church. She was employed with Fruit of the Loom, Inc. and also Amazon.
 

Mrs. Matney was also preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Cody Matney and 3 brothers: Gary Wayne Meadows, Jerry Meadows, and Bruce Meadows.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Ruth was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.  She had a a genuine love for people and found great joy in serving others during her 20+ years with Campbellsville Retirement Home.

She united in marriage to George Rieman Phillips July 14, 1952 and he preceded her in death September 25, 1984.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. She was a Dietary Aid at Metzmyer, a caregiver, and Housekeeper at Medco. She enjoyed reading her bible, watching church services on Facebook, and enjoyed being with her family.

 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Rosalynn Grace Puente.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Parker was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom, and a current employee of Taylor County Primary School.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Leon Parker, on July 28, 1998.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the St. Mark United Methodist Church in Campbellsville. He was a former cutting room lineman for Fruit of the Loom, Inc. for 25 plus years, and was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Army.

Diane R. Whitley, 67, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Lloyd Robinson and Ella Stevens Robinson was born April 15, 1954 in Pennsylvania. She died at 6:02 A.M., Saturday, September 4, 2021 in Louisville. 

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Faith Covenant Ministries.


She united in marriage to Rev. Charles “Lanny” Whitley April 22, 2004. He preceded her in death April 30, 2019.


Diane is survived by two step-daughters:  Rebecca “Becky” Whitley of Versailles and Melissa Hunter of Louisville; four step-grandchildren; one sister and three brothers: Darlene Robinson and husband, Roy of Woodbridge, Virginia, James Douglas Robinson and wife, Liz, David Michael Robinson and wife, Kim and Eugene Robinson and wife, Mary of Lexington; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Donna made a profession of faith and was a member of The Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church in Sulphur Well. She attended college in New York having attained an associate degree and worked as a Registered Nurse. She was avid in the scouts and was the Scout Master of Troop 3. She loved animals, she also enjoyed canning and quilting.

Henry F. “Buddy” Beard, 86, of Greensburg, KY, son of the late Richard Beard and Hallie Dangerfield Beard Nunn, was born on Tuesday, April 23, 1935 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, September 03, 2021 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was 86 years, 4 months, and 11 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Fry Baptist Church. He went to school in Green County. He owned his own business, working as an auto-body technician at Green River Auto Body for 40 years. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed camping, go kart & car races, painting, building models, and spending time with his family.

Edith Newton Wise Hunt, 97, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Ernest S. Newton and Hallie Derr Newton, was born March 26, 1924 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 10:03amET on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in Campbellsville.   

 

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church. Edith was a hard worker and former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. She later retired from Taylor Regional Hospital. Edith was soft spoken and kind person who loved working in flowers and quilting. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.

 

Edith united in marriage to Maurice Wise and he preceded her in death. To this union, 5 sons were born. She later united in marriage to Charles E. Hunt on June 2, 2001 and he preceded her in death on August 11, 2005.

LEONARD EARL CAMPBELL, 94, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Leonard Earl Campbell, 94, of Campbellsville, KY passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Taylor Regional Hospital. Son of the late Rev. Jessie David “J.D.” and Cecilia (Osborne) Campbell, he was born April 12, 1927 in Taylor County. 

 

Mr. Campbell was a long-time employee of Fruit of the Loom and retired after 37 years of service. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended East Campbellsville Church of God. Mr. Campbell especially enjoyed gardening and yardwork, and mowed grass until very recently. He was noted as a devoted and caring man, always willing to help in any capacity he could, and will be dearly missed.

3 grandchildren: Allison Maynard, Roger Dale Maynard, and Byron “B.K.” Maynard and wife Martha Gail, all of Campbellsville

Anna Elizabeth Gabehart, 59, daughter of the late Wendell and Elizabeth Sue (Whited) King, was born in Taylor County, KY on July 12, 1962 and passed suddenly from this life on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Taylor Regional Hospital. 
 
Anna had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Feathersburg First Church of God. Mrs. Gabehart was a former employee of Taylor County Hospital and Adanta, but first and foremost, she was a mother. Providing for the needs of her family was paramount in her life, and she took special pride in caring for them.

Judy Eler Dile, 68, beloved wife of Johnny Dile, passed from this life on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at her home in Campbellsville, KY. Daughter of the late Walter and Trene (Thompson) Moore, she was born in Taylor County on January 21, 1953. 
 
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Yuma Baptist Church. Mrs. Dile was a retiree of Fruit of the Loom, and a cherished mother and grandmother.

JUANITA WHEAT MITCHELL, 94, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Juanita "Jeanne" Wheat Mitchell, 94, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Lennie Wheat and Lillie Hardwick Wheat, was born in Adair County, KY on July 21, 1927. She died at 4:33 A.M., Monday, August 30, 2021, in Lexington, KY.

 

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Bethel First Presbyterian Church, where she was an active volunteer in many aspects of church life. She worked at Mitchell’s Men’s Wear for many years, and pursued interests in genealogy, Kentucky history, cooking and entertaining, and travel. She remained a strong and inspirational figure in the lives of her beloved family members. 

 

She united in marriage to Daniel William "Billy" Mitchell November 16, 1946 and he preceded her in death April 27, 2012.

Virginia D. Shelton, 89, of Summersville, KY, daughter of the late Roger Shelton and Lachia Skaggs Shelton, was born on Thursday, July 14, 1932 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at her home. 


She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church. She was also a retired supply clerk for Fort Knox.

Besides her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Shelton on April 2, 2021.
