She later obtained her master’s degree from Western Kentucky University and served her community as a social worker and family counselor. She created the non-profit organization Franklin Simpson A.B.L.E. She dedicated her life’s work to advocating for children and educating parents to prevent child abuse. She welcomed children and adults of all ages to her home for over thirty years to teach swimming lessons. If you ever recall seeing blue ribbons, the symbol of child abuse prevention, it was likely Becky’s doing. She loved playing tennis, and “whipping” around in her convertibles over the years. Edna Louise Webb, 84, Campbellsville, KY

Edna Louise Webb, 84, of Campbellsville, KY passed away to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born March 16, 1940 in Coal Ridge, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles T. and Luella Hickman Moore

Edna was also preceded in death by five siblings: Betty Faye (Harry) Morrison, Norma (Wayne) Hayes, Verna Kay (David) Stack, Jessie Eugene Moore, and Harry Murel Moore all of Ohio; and her favorite son-in-law, David E. Nichols, Jr.

Louise was a pastor’s wife for 42 years. During that time she also served as the first lady of the Kentucky Church of God of Prophecy alongside her husband for one term. The last 13 of those years were spent at the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy, before retiring and moving to Elizabethtown, Kentucky. As a pastor’s wife, she became a church mom and carried her mothering spirit while serving throughout their ministry together. Her absence will leave a hole in many hearts and her hugs and smiles will be forever missed. We know she will be greeted by many who have gone before her in Heaven, and David will be at the gate hollering, “Weezie, what took you so long?”

She was affectionately known as “Weezie” to family and friends, and she spent her life serving her family as a homemaker. She was a person who loved her family fiercely. Weezie was a mom to many, an excellent housekeeper (always going the distance with her decorating), a meticulous organizer, an extreme shopper, a bit of a diva, a lover of all holidays, and a faithful cheerleader to all her kids. She was known in our family as the master grilled cheese maker. She loved to cook, and we all loved to eat her cooking. A sweet and feisty lady who enjoyed gardening, bird watching, hosting, and always welcomed everyone with a hug. Most importantly, she was faithful in her relationship and her walk with God.

FAMILY EXPRESSIONS OF SYMPATHY REQUESTED TO BE DONATIONS TO GIDEON BIBLES  AND MAY BE MADE AT PARROTT & RAMSEY FUNERAL HOME.

Brenda Charlene Stewart Harmon, 82, Bowling Green, KY

Brenda Charlene Stewart Harmon, 82, of Bowling Green, KY, entered Heaven’s gates on Monday,  August 5, 2024 while residing at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky and Village Manor, a Christian Care Community. She was born April 16, 1942 in Bell Co. KY, the only child of the late Guy and Malta Stewart.

Brenda was a graduate of Middlesboro High School, Class of 1960. She enrolled and attended Eastern Kentucky State College and later transferred and graduated from East Tennessee State University – a Home Econ major by trade and practice, and a Homemaker and Mom through the years.

Brenda made her profession of faith and was baptized as a youth in Bell County and later married at First Baptist Church in Middlesboro, KY. She married the Campus Cop from EKU on September 1, 1963, the late Howard J. Harmon of Springfield, KY and celebrated 51 years of marriage until he entered Heaven on October 18, 2014.

Brenda grew in her faith and she and Howard attended Campbellsville Baptist Church where she served the Lord as a GA (Girls in Action) and Acteen’s leader with the young ladies, and later with her husband as Youth Group leaders in the 1980s.

After moving to Bowling Green and wintering in Deerfield Beach, FL in 2004, Brenda faithfully attended and enjoyed worshiping at Living Hope Baptist Church and Boca Glades Baptist Church respectively. She never gave up on her faith and never stop studying the Bible through many various Women’s Bible and Co-Ed Sunday School groups. She would like a special recognition to Mr. Steve and Mrs. Gail Henry and the members of her Sunday School class.

Brenda was most notably one of the best cooks in our friend circle. Family and friends alike loved her passion and abilities and the country style cooking she would effortlessly dish out, at the drop of a hat; or full supper spread from nothing but her garden and farm supplies; or the late-night breakfast meal for a group of kids that came for a late-night swim and opened the kitchen just because we showed up hungry, well past her bedtime. One thing you could always count on is a sweet dessert to end the meal. Cinnamon rolls, a favorite fruit cobbler, coconut or chocolate pie or a bottomless container of oatmeal or chocolate chip cookies.

“Ms. H” was a Mom to us all, at one time or another. Some of us more often than we care to admit, but with her resources and time, she was always more than generous to us all. We shared our lives with Mom and she always made sure that we knew we could always count on her for whatever was required. For an only child, she provided all of us kids and grandkids with a multitude of aunts and uncles from college roommates and peers and high school sorority sisters to distant cousins that supported us and made us a part of their own families. To you all, a heartfelt thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You have been and always will be our family.
