Nona Warren Parrish, 72, of Campbellsville, KY, the daughter of the late W.C. Warren and June (Wilson) Warren-Sluder, was born October 30, 1950 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at her home. 

         

Nona had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Beech Grove Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and Clarcor, both in Campbellsville. Nona loved fishing, gardening, canning, and flowers.

         

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee “Pete” Parrish and three brothers: Mark Warren, Marvin Warren and Charlie “David” Warren.

Roger Pruitt, 69, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Roger Pruitt, Sr. and Katherine Varner Lee Pruitt, was born August 22, 1954 in Barren County, KY. He died at 11:01 A.M., Tuesday, September 26, 2023 in Campbellsville.

 

He professed faith in Christ and attended various churches. Roger was a retired owner and operator of CarQuest Auto Parts in Campbellsville. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. Roger never met a stranger, loved people and spending time with his family. He would go out of his way to help people and always supported his community and county.

 

He united in marriage to Teresa Coffey February 14, 1980 and she preceded him in death August 24, 2013.

Christine Deener Hall, 88, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Walter Deener and Eva Hedgespeth Deener, was born January 18, 1935 in Taylor County, KY. She died at 8:33amET on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 in Campbellsville.

 

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. Christine was a retired schoolteacher with the Taylor County School System.  She enjoyed sewing and baking and chasing after her crazy little dog.    

 

She united in marriage to Rev. Gene Hall August 14, 1954 and he preceded her in death August 9, 2014.

Sonnie Wayne Matney, 85, of Greensburg, KY, son of the late Sonnie Matney and Lula Edwards Matney, was born on June 15, 1938 in Green County and departed this life on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at his home. 

 

Sonnie had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Union Chapel Church. He was a dairy farmer, owned/operated Matney Sawmill, and served in the United States Army.

 

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Matney. He later united in marriage to Elizabeth Risen Matney (who survives) having united on June 1, 1978.

Robert Wayne McCubbins, 87, Louisville, KY (formerly of Green County)

 
Robert Wayne McCubbins, 87, of Louisville, KY (formerly of Green County), passed away Monday at his home. He was born in Green County, KY where he met his wife of 70 years, Shirley, at church.
 

Wayne worked for Wehr Construction in his early career, then he started his own successful business, McCubbins Home Improvement. He worked for himself for many years until retirement. It was at that time that he found a new love for golf and spending time with his family and grandchildren at Nolin Lake. When they weren’t travelling to far away golf courses, they spent time at their second home at the lake. Many memories were made on his boat that he kept immaculate, tubing and skiing.

 

He was a lifelong member of Brush Creek Baptist Church, but for many years he attended Arcade Baptist. He was always making everyone laugh and loved being silly with his grandkids and great grandkids.

 

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Ivo and Mallie Estes McCubbins; his two brothers, William and Ray McCubbins; and his sister, Mary Sue Evans. He was also preceded in death by his wife Shirley McCubbins.

Jimmie Cox, 87, Campbellsville, KY

 

Jimmie Cox, 87, of Campbellsville, KY, a son of the late Ed Cox and Hazel Hare Cox, was born June 16, 1936 in Taylor County, KY. He died at 11:56pmET on Friday, September 22, 2023 in Campbellsville.

 

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Saloma Baptist Church. Jimmie enjoyed spending his time camping and taking care of his family after retiring. He loved babysitting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

 

Jimmie served his community as a Firefighter. He started his career in October of 1958 as a dispatcher while living at the firehouse. He went on to become the Chief of the Campbellsville Fire Department from 1973-1996 and was a member of the Kentucky Firefighter Association where he served 1 year as President and 7 years as Vice President. He had numerous accomplishments during his time as fire chief such as opening the Fire Training Center, developing activities for fire prevention week, working to get a mini pump truck and an aerial fire truck, developing Toys for Kids program and working with the WHAS Crusade for Children. Jimmie also worked as a security guard for Pinkerton.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a Certified Nursing Assistant & caretaker for many years and loved to craft.

 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Charles Scott on August 14, 2021, having united in marriage on December 1, 2001.

Danny Lynn Orman, 69, of Knifley, KY, son of the late James Munroe Orman and Lillie E. Crutchfield Orman, was born March 19, 1954 in Bells, Tennessee and departed this life on Friday, September 15, 2023 in Knifley.
 
Danny was a proud Army veteran and a retired welder. He enjoyed being surrounded by family, his baby girls, and baby boys, good food, and lots of laughter. He was known to many as Danny Clause. The highlight of his year was dressing up as Santa for any and everyone, to the extent of shopping in Walmart in full attire. He'd walk the isles handing out mini candy canes, and we're not sure who's faces lit up more, the kid's, or his. He will be greatly missed by everyone who was blessed to know him, and his sweet cat Tom.

Bettie had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Jesus Name Church in Campbellsville. She was retired from Edmonton Manufacturing Co. after 30 plus years of service.
 
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jessie Riley Shoopman on January 24, 2017, having united in marriage on July 1, 1961 and by a brother, James Hoots.

Rev. William C Reed, 73, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late William Cecil Reed and Florence Lucille Smith Reed, was born October 4, 1949 in Bluefield, West Virginia. He departed this life at 10:49 A.M. on Friday, September 22, 2023 at his home in Campbellsville.


He accepted Jesus as his Savior at an early age and he attended Bible College where he earned a Theology degree. Bro. Bill pastored in Virginia, Indiana and Kentucky. He loved preaching and discussing the Bible with anyone. He was also an avid reader.

Mrs. Moore was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church and a retired teacher in the Campbellsville City Schools. She enjoyed her pets and spending time with her family and friends.

Charlene had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the South Greensburg Baptist Church. She was a former clerk at Glovers Station Antique Mall and was a lover of antiques.

 

She united in marriage to Ellis Kendall Ennis on August 15, 1956, who preceded her in death on December 3, 2010.

Royce Hershel Clark, 90, of Campbellsville, KY (a native of Green County), passed away Friday, September 22, 2023 at Taylor Regional Hospital. He was born in the Exie Community of Green County on July 3, 1933 to the late George Hershel Clark and Anna Lee Kelly Clark.

 

He served his country honorably in the United States Army, from 1953 to 1955 with much of that time stationed in Germany. He was also a member of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post #124. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Lebanon Methodist Church.

 

United in marriage to Elizabeth Lewis Phillips June 1, 1956. Elizabeth was his devoted wife for 60 years preceding him in death on August 3, 2016.

Theresa Marlene Gabehart, 61, of Campbellsville, KY, the daughter of the late Glen Merritt and the granddaughter of the late Alice Ramsey, was born December 8, 1961 and departed this life on September 19, 2023.

 

She was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 760 for 30 years, retired, and then was a stained glass maker for several years. She worked on projects for NASA, hooking up controls for two launch pads and performed industrial electrical work. She was of the Baptist Faith.

Tiffany professed faith in God and was baptized in Lexington, Ky. She attended school at West Jessamine in Nicholasville, Ky. She loved all people and animals, especially her bangle cat “Blu”. Tiffany was a very tender-hearted and loving lady who was always trying to make others happy. She was very talented in her own creations which she sold in small shops in the Lexington area and gave as gifts to family and friends. Zelma Lotter, 80, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Huston Hoosier and Lottie Ellen Burress, was born August 9, 1943 in Adair County, Kentucky.  She died at 2:38 A.M., Wednesday, September 6, 2023 in Campbellsville.

 

Zelma professed faith in Christ and attended Truth Tabernacle Pentecostal Church. She was a retired housekeeper for Dr. James R. Angel’s family for 22 years. Zelma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

 

She united in marriage to Bobby E. Lotter May 12, 1962 and he preceded her in death January 15, 2011.

Joey professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church. He was a partner with Bertram, Cox & Miller LLP. Joey was a person who loved life. He loved to fish, hunt, spend time with his family and be outdoors. He was known as a loving husband, father, and friend who loved big; loved hard and if you knew him, you loved him.

Betty Jean Acree, 73, of Campbellsville, KY passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on May 14, 1950, a daughter of the late Columbus Gordon and Imogene (Wright) Boils.
 
Mrs. Acree was water baptized in Jesus’ name and received the gift of the Holy Ghost at the age of 16, and daily carried that joy with her for the remainder of her earthly time. Mrs. Acree had retired from the Taylor County School District as the cafeteria manager of Taylor County High School. She was also a former employee of Fruit of the Loom. Full of spiritual wisdom, she gladly and regularly passed Godly knowledge to all she came in contact with.

Larry Graybeal, 71, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Milton Spencer Graybeal and Erie Amazon Ball Graybeal, was born May 23, 1952 in Ohio. He died at 10:27pmET on Friday, September 1, 2023 in Louisville.

 

He was a retired HVAC employee with Pickett’s Heating and Cooling. Larry professed faith in Christ and was a member of East Campbellsville Church of God. He was known by his family as the hardest worker you could ever meet, but most importantly, he was the greatest dad a son could ever ask for.
 

He united in marriage to Rita Dupps Graybeal May 4, 1973 and she preceded him in death on September 1, 2005.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ladies Chapel Church. She was a farmer, a homemaker, and was retired from being an inspector for the Fruit of Loom after 24 years.

 

She united in marriage to Kenneth Gordon Pickett on July 12, 1952, who preceded her in death on June 9, 1998.

Natosha Marie Hunt, 32, of Center, KY passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at the University of Louisville Hospital. The Edmonson County native was born on September 15, 1990 to the late George Hunt and Deborah Sue White Hunt.
 
Natosha was a 2008 graduate of Edmonson County High School, and went on to play collegiate basketball for Mid Continent University and Dyersburg State Community College. She was athletic, an amazing cook and loved the outdoors! She loved fishing, hunting for mushrooms and cooking for her family and friends. Her personality was contagious, and she always showed true love and kindness to those that meant the most to her. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
