EVA "BEBE" MCCUBBIN, 87, CAMPBELLSVILLE

Eva “BeBe” McCubbin, 87, daughter of the late Alberta Mather Brown was born March 25, 1933 in Larue County, KY. She died at 2:17 P.M., Thursday, June 10, 2020 in Campbellsville.

She professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Eva was a former secretary at Campbellsville College and Taylor County High School and part owner of Little Toot Children’s Store. Eva, BeBe to some, was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Though she was small, she was fierce, and had a vibrant energy that could be felt as soon as she walked into a room and flashed her beautiful smile. She valued her relationships deeply and was a loving friend to all. Part of the “Mag 7,” as they called it, Eva had a tightly knit group of women she had been close with since their days at Magnolia High School. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society for years, and would attend numerous philanthropic events with them. She was a loving dance teacher for most of her life, a true passion of hers, teaching clogging to the young and old throughout the community, infiltrating many events with her choreography. Eva also taught dance at Campbellsville University, and loved teaching dance to the athletes as part of their flexibility training. That wasn’t her first experience in working for a university...in her younger years, as her husband was attending pharmacy school, she worked for the University of Kentucky Agricultural Department, proudly claiming that she secured the job when she was the only one to spell “alfalfa” correctly in the interview. Whatever she was involved in, she committed herself 100%. But her favorite role was that of wife, mother, and grandmother. To know her was to instantly love her. And she would love you right back. She was deeply loved and will be incredibly missed by all.

She united in marriage to Sherman “Pete” McCubbin February 12, 1954 and he preceded her in death August 8, 2004.  She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters: JoAnn Underwood and Mary Frances Heath.
