Clara Mae Miller, 75, of Greensburg, KY departed this life on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. She was born October 26, 1949 in Canmer, KY, the beloved daughter of the late Kirk Barbour and Clarine Jordan Barbour.

Rooted in faith from the very beginning, Clara accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church, and later became a devoted member of Second Baptist Church in Greensburg, where her light truly shined. Whether lifting her voice in the choir, greeting all with warmth on the Usher Board, organizing with love as President of the Activity Department, inspiring young hearts as a Sunday School teacher and youth leader, or simply serving wherever needed — Clara’s service was sincere, spirited, and steadfast.

“Clara Mae” was the embodiment of grace and goodness. Kind, caring, gentle, and thoughtful, her presence was a gift to all who knew her. As a wife, she stood as a loyal partner and pillar of strength. As a mother, she wrapped her children in unwavering love. As a grandmother, she brought sweetness and wisdom. As a sister, she remained grounded and strong. As a friend, her giving heart never ceased to pour into others.

Clara lived by the motto, “Only what you do for Christ will last,” and she exemplified this by faithfully serving not only her local church but extended her dedication to the wider body of Christ through district and state-level service, notably as a multi-term President of the Zion District Usher Board. Yet, of all the titles she held and honors she earned, the one that brought her the greatest joy and deepest pride was simply being called “Nana.”

Clara was known by her family as a true “social butterfly.” She had a special knack for connecting with people and left joy wherever she went. She stayed active in her golden years—growing vibrant flowers, and finding joy, laughter, and movement with her friends at the Green County Senior Center.

She is now reunited in glory with her parents, several cherished brothers and sisters, her beloved daughter Janet Edwards, and her dear son Samuel Miller.

2 great- granddaughters: Rhylynn Mitchell and Aveyanna Jones

Sisters-in-law: Phylis Miller of Columbia, KY and Nora Barbour of Philadelphia, PA

Though she has taken her final earthly rest, Clara Mae Miller’s legacy of faith, family, and selfless love will continue to blossom in the lives of all she touched. She ran her race with grace, finished her course with honor, and now rests in eternal peace with her Savior.
