Martin “Gene” Bickett, 71, of Lebanon, KY, son of the late Martin Eugene “Nick” Bickett and Dorothy Ann Cecil Bickett, was born September 21, 1950 in Marion County, KY. He died at 3:50pmET on Friday, October 29, 2021 in Campbellsville.    

          

Gene professed his faith in Christ and was of catholic faith. Gene had worked at Fruit of the Loom and later retired from Ingersoll Rand.

 

He united in marriage to Beverly Farmer January 25, 1975.

HELEN SANDIDGE UNDERWOOD, 80, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 
Helen Sandidge Underwood, 80 of Campbellsville, KY (a native of Green County), passed away Friday, October 29, 2021 at Taylor Regional Hospital. She was born on Friday, May 13, 1932 in Green County, a daughter of the late Daniel Dwight Sandidge and Mary Phillips Sandidge 

Helen had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Greensburg Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder, Clerk of the Session, pianist since age 14 and organist for many years. She attended Campbellsville College for 2 years. While attending college, she was elected Deputy Sheriff of Green County with Paul Rayburn as Sheriff and Deputies Herman Kelly and Ores Durrett. She worked on Saturday and during the summer in the Sherriff’s office. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics. She taught Home Economics 10 years at Shepherdsville while also serving as State President of Kentucky Home Economics Association. She was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel by the Governor, Louie B. Nunn. She then served as Bullitt County Director of School Food Service for 23 years. She also served at President of Kentucky School Food Service and Treasurer for 10 years. She was a volunteer for Bullitt County Chapter for Red Cross for 40 years and received the outstanding Service award in 1998. She joined the Shepherdsville Lions Club in 1996 after having helped in many events, and later joined the Campbellsville Lions Club. After living in Shepherdsville for 43 years, she and her husband, Sam moved to their farm on the edge of Green County and Taylor County lines in the Black Gnat Community.

Helen united in marriage to Samuel Leslie Underwood on July 19, 1959 who preceded her in death on February 16, 2017.

VICTOR WAYNE SHOFNER, 55, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Victor Wayne Shofner, 55, of New Hope, KY, son of the late Rev. Ray Victor Shofner and Edith Catherine Caulk Shofner, was born September 17, 1966 in Jefferson County and departed this life on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Norton’s Pavilion in Louisville, KY.

 

He professed his faith in Christ and was of Baptist faith. Victor was a jack of all trades and loved to be everyone’s handyman to build or fix anything that was laid in front of him. He loved to farm and had a passion for hunting and fishing. Always by his side was his loyal Australian shepherd, Siann. He loved his mother’s pink knockout rose bush that he dug up and replanted at his home so he could enjoy it. His favorite moments were spent with his boys and his grand-babies.

Samuel A. Garrison, 89, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Roy Allen Garrison and Ruth Thomas Garrison, was born May 5, 1932 in Adair County, KY. He died at 2:56pmET on Thursday, October 28, 2021 in Lexington.

 

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church and was recently attending The Rock Community Worship Center.

 

Samuel was a former employee of Parker Kalon and the Campbellsville Water Company where he was a waste water treatment operator.

 

He united in marriage to Wynema Breeding December 26, 1950.

Paul Allen Anderson, 82, of Green County, KY passed away Monday, October 25, 2021 at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY. He was born December 23, 1938 to the late William Anderson and the late Nonie Anderson.

 

He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and united with the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Greensburg. He loved his two sons and his family. He loved being a truck driver, farming and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the Bethel AME Church in Campbellsville, KY.

Greg Nolley, 55, of Campbellsville, KY, son of Margie Lee Nolley and Jimmy Nolley, was born October 6, 1966 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  He died at 11:25amET on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in Lexington. 

 

Greg was the owner of Z-Lock Insulated Building for 22 years.

 

He united in marriage to the love of his life, Djuana Spencer, on April 14, 1990.

LARRY DONALD "DONNIE" RICHERSON, 78, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 
Larry Donald "Donnie” Richerson, 78 of Campbellsville, KY passed away Monday, October 25, 2021 at his home. He was born on July 17, 1943 in Taylor County to the late Dallas Preston “Pete” and Dorothy (McVay) Richerson.
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired machinist, and a cherished husband, father, and grandfather. Donnie partnered with Gene Hatcher, and together, they opened H&R Repair. They remained great friends throughout. He made automatic sewing equipment for Fruit of the Loom (and several other factories), selling and installing them across the United States, and various other pieces of custom equipment for other factories, both local and abroad. An authentic craftsman, Donnie loved fixing things - regardless of the size of the project - and he took great pride in his work. He enjoyed driving his tractor around his property (and his motorcycle around the countryside), searching the fields and creeks for arrowheads, or trading guns and knives, but his passion was in the time he spent with his family and grandchildren.

Brad Milby, 68, was born January 27, 1953 in Taylor County, KY to the late Ernest Lenward Milby and Joyce Chaudoin Milby Marr. He departed this life Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville, KY.

 

He worked as a Finance Officer in car sales at Byerly Nissan, Louisville, KY. He loved to fish.

AUDREY CASEY, 85, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Audrey Casey, 85, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Hillman Harvey Hutchinson and Willie Margaret Adams Hutchinson was born December 27, 1935 in Kenton County, KY. She died at 3:35 P.M., Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in Evansville, Indiana.    

 

She professed faith in Christ at age 8 at Eggleston Methodist Church and had lifelong roles there as pianist, organist and adult Sunday School teacher. She was currently a member of Faith Covenant Ministries in Campbellsville. Audrey was a very talented lady who operated a drapery workshop for some 50 years. She had won a scholarship to the Art Academy of Cincinnati but fell in love and decided to marry instead. She was very crafty and won numerous awards for her work. She moved to Campbellsville in 1996 to be near her daughter and family and became active in the community. She was a member of a committee that brought the fair back to Taylor County and was active with Taylor County Homemakers. She was also talented in music, playing the piano and writing numerous songs. She and her children enjoyed singing and playing instruments together.

 

She united in marriage to Leland Casey September 18, 1954. He preceded her in death July 17, 1993.

 

Her son, Leland Edward Casey, Jr. was a merchant marine who went missing and presumed deceased January 7, 1980. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Richard Hutchinson, Lillian George and Dutch Hutchinson.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a homemaker, and a former C.N.A. for Meadows East Nursing Facility in Jeffersontown.
 
She united in marriage to Bill Miller who also preceded her in death in 1969.

DEAN MINOR, 74, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Dean Minor, 74, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late John Minor and Mary Gupton Minor, was born April 14, 1947 in Taylor County, KY. He died at 3:58 P.M. Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in Greensburg.            

 

Dean professed his faith in Christ and attended Faith Union Baptist Church. He was an Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He served in the 1st Calvary Division and continued to show deep patriotism upon an honorable discharge. Dean was a skilled carpenter, and worked more than thirty years in the construction industry.

 

Dean united in marriage to Teresa Carol Thompson March 21, 1981 and she preceded him in death April 9, 2016. He later united in marriage to Pam Milby Lobb February 15, 2020. He was also preceded in death by one brother and five sisters: J.W. Minor, Lucille Spurling, Ruth Stone, Edith Dabney, Johnetta Rash, and Sarah Minor.

Eunice Marie Pierce, 92, of Green County, KY, daughter of the late James David Skaggs and Hallie Pearl Estes Skaggs, was born on Friday, July 5, 1929 in Green County and departed this life on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at her home. 


She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Houk’s Chapel United Methodist Church, and was a homemaker, but most of all she was known for how much she loved and cherished her family.


She united in marriage to Alton Pierce, Sr. on September 25, 1947 who preceded her in death on January 23, 2001.

REBECCA LYON COLVIN, 72, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Rebecca Lyon Colvin, 72, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Earl Lyon and Sally Bartley Lyon was born August 18, 1949 in Glasgow, KY. She died at 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in Campbellsville after her valiant struggle with Parkinson’s disease.  

 

Becky accepted Jesus as her Savior early in life and was an active member at Palestine Baptist Church. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Campbellsville College and Master of Arts from Western Kentucky University and retired after teaching English and Spanish for 30 years at Campbellsville High School. Becky enjoyed crafting, sewing, baking and watching her grandchildren. She had much rather be doing outdoor chores than housekeeping; mowing, weed eating and taking care of her flowers were her methods of de-stressing after a day of teaching. She also helped Larry with milking before going to school.

 

Becky united in marriage to Larry Colvin August 7, 1970.

Brandon worked in the broadcasting industry, where he was an on-air personality at Kentucky radio stations in Russell Springs, Campbellsville, Lexington, and Bardstown, as well a producer for ESPN Sports Radio in Louisville, KY. Brandon also worked on the television crews for ESPN and CBS during University of Kentucky and University of Louisville basketball games. Most recently, Brandon worked in sales and in addiction recovery, where he made many friends and impacted many lives. He was a gifted speaker who taught classes and shared his personal story with audiences across the state.
 

Brandon had a passion for fishing, which was formed in his early years by trips with his dad. He especially enjoyed fishing in streams of the Green and Cumberland Rivers and wading Russell and Sulfur Creeks with the family dogs during childhood. Brandon never missed an opportunity to get wet and loved spending time in a canoe or kayak. He was also an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan.
 

Brandon was best known for his kindness and compassion and his unique ability to make everyone in a room feel special and accepted. His smile and laughter were contagious, and he was noted for his wit and light-hearted fun.
 

Brandon attended elementary, middle, and high school at Adair County Schools and graduated from Adair County High School in 1998. He also attended Western Kentucky University and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Columbia, KY.

Burial: Richmond Cemetery.

Roger Warren Stearman, 66, of Green County, KY, son of the late James Thomas Stearman, Sr. and Barbara Jean Larimore Stearman, was born on Thursday, August 25, 1955 in the Gabe Community of Green County and passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at his home in the Marshall Ridge Section of Green County after a long illness.


He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Greensburg Baptist Church at the time of his death. Roger was a lifelong farmer. He loved nothing more than to spend time on the farm raising crops and working cattle. He retired from Nally and Hayden after working there for many years. Roger loved his family dearly and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Lena Campbell Harmon, 83, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Charlie Campbell and Flossie Colvin Campbell, was born June 3, 1939 in Taylor County, KY. She died at 6:50 P.M. on Friday, October 15, 2021 in Campbellsville.     

 

She professed faith in Christ and was a lifelong member of Palestine Baptist Church. Lena was a teller with Citizen’s Bank and also had worked as a switchboard operator, as well as a bookkeeper and secretary for her church. She had a great interest in genealogy and kept perfect photo albums. Lena also enjoyed gardening and tending to her roses and she had a special love for the children, as well as the senior adults she cared for over the years.

HELEN MOORE CLARK, 91, GREENSBURG, KY

 

Helen Mitchell Moore Clark, 91, daughter of the late W.R. Moore and Euna Hayes Moore, was born on December 12, 1929 in the Ebenezer community of Green County, KY. She departed this life on Monday, October 11, 2021 surrounded by her family.

 

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene (Bill) Clark, whom she married in 1952.

 

Helen lived a fulfilling life as wife, mother, sister and friend. She and her 7 siblings were educated through the 8th grade at the Ebenezer one-room school that their father helped build and was located across the road from the Moore home. After high school, she was employed by John Ewing as secretary for the Green County Farm Agent. Once married, Helen and Bill moved to Georgetown where Bill was introduced to rattan furniture. A few years later they returned to Greensburg and started Clark Casual Furniture. Other shared passions included sailing and wine making. Helen was involved with the Girl Scout program and was a longtime member and elder of the Greensburg Presbyterian Church.

MITCHELL CLAYTON SEABORNE, 79, TAYLOR COUNTY, KY

 

Mitchell Clayton Seaborne, 79, of Speck Ridge Community was born in Taylor County on November 5, 1941 to the late Coakley D. Seaborne and Vernie Mae Williams Seaborne of the Speck Community of Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at his home.

 

He professed his faith in Christ and was of Baptist faith. Mitchell graduated from Taylor County in 1960 and had attended Speck School for primary. He joined the navy in 1960 for a 4-year enlistment. Mitchell worked at Ford Motor, GE, Ingersoll Ran, owned and operated the Bean Pot Restaurant, ran Taylor County Stockyard Restaurant, and his final beloved job as a member of the State Highway Department where he loved to mow and ran the salt trucks in winter. He retired after 25 years working for the State Highway Department. He was a lover of history and aspired earlier to be a history professor, he loved a slick mowed yard, was also an avid UK Basketball fan, coach of many local youth sports of girls and boys, was in the Democratic party, loved his children and grandchildren.

Earl Beams, 82, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Everett Edward Beams and Gladys Marie Allen, was born April 14, 1939, in Taylor County and departed this life on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at his home.

 

He professed his faith in Christ and attended Grace Mission Church. Earl was a retired purchasing agent at Campbellsville Industries and an Army Veteran.

 

He united in marriage to Shirley Ann Beams on June 1, 1963 and she preceded him in death on March 8, 2017. He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters: Veda Bowen, Frances Skaggs, and Anna Marilyn Beams and a brother, Junior Allan Beams.

Martha Nell (Pruitt) White, 80, of Campbellsville passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the Campbellsville Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Green County on August 10, 1941.

 

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. White was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and Campbellsville Apparel. She was an avid University of Kentucky fan and she especially enjoyed working and spending time with her church friends.

William “W.K.” Baker, 74, of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late Donald and Maydell (Murphy) Baker, was born August 6, 1947 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, October 9, 2021 in Campbellsville at Taylor Regional Hospital. 

 

W.K. had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Church of God Faith. He was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and a corrections officer, and later, the fire inspector for Marion County Adjustment Center. W.K. enjoyed racing cars, hunting, and going fishing with his wife before her passing.

 

He united in marriage to Eloise Bea (Maynard) Baker, who preceded him in death in 2019.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Elk Horn Baptist Church. Raymond was a very talented hairdresser and instructor for many years. He was a very loving “Poppy” and “Daddy” to his children and grandchildren.

She professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church. Helen was a cashier at Houchens for twenty-one years then worked as a teller for Taylor County Bank until her retirement. She and James enjoyed their retirement years together in Florida. Helen was a great cook who loved to feed her family and friends; she also enjoyed horseback riding and playing cards.

 

She united in marriage to James Elwood Kessler June 7, 1949 and he preceded her in death March 16, 2008.

She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and Taylor County Elementary School Daycare. Mrs. Noel had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the First Church of God. A natural caretaker, she was an exceptional cook, and quilted many family heirlooms.

Ina was involved in Zion District Women’s Missionary Society and the Taylor County Star Light Homemakers Club. Ina was a very loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed sewing and devoted her time to her family and friends.

Ms. Mary Ruth Smith, 59, was born November 14, 1961 in Adair County, KY to the late Albert and Clara Victoria Holt Spaulding. She departed this life on Friday October 1, 2021 at Georgetown Community Hospital in Georgetown, KY.

 

She had made a profession of faith in Christ at an early age at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Earlier on in her life she worked in tobacco. She enjoyed being on the go and helping anyone in need. For there was no task to big for her even being told “Ruthie you can’t do that.” She enjoyed going to Golden Years in Edmonton, KY where she had a host of friends. She enjoyed being outside, doing things in the yard, planting, etc. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, her daughters, son-in-law, and grandkids. As quick as she would come for a visit, as quick she wanted to go home. She loved being home, she loved her home Greensburg. Mary Ruth Smith enjoyed having conversations with everyone she crossed paths with and a laugh or smile to all.

John worked in industrial automation and most recently was employed by Air Hydro Power in Lexington. John had a special gift for seeing people in need and finding a practical way to help. John was well loved and will be dearly missed.

Daniel J. “Dan” Thiron, 66, was born August 17, 1955 in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, to the late William J. Thiron and Bernice Debruyne Thiron. He departed this life Wednesday October 6, 2021 at the Green Hill Rehabilitation and Care.

 

He was raised in Harper Woods, Michigan and graduated from all boy’s Catholic high school in St. Claire Shore, Michigan. He was a truck driver and came alive behind the wheel. He loved seeing the cities and states. He enjoyed the outdoors and being in nature, cutting wood, and shooting guns.   

 

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ellen Zitko.

Sarah Matt (Perkins) Allen, 91, daughter of the late Gobel Perkins and Ivy Lewis Milby Perkins, was born September 1, 1930 in Green County and departed this life on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at her son’s home in Indiana.
 

She professed her faith in Christ and was of Baptist Faith.  Sarah was a homemaker most of her life and she loved to quilt, gardening, and her flowers.

 

She united in marriage to John Elmer Allen on December 23, 1947 and he preceded her in death on September 15, 2004.

 

Besides her parents and her husband, Sarah is preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Allen; a son, Elmer Allen; a grandson, Russell Emerson (1983); and by three sisters & seven brothers.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, loved all animals, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Ed Bush, 83, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Ossie Dean Bush and Maureen Slinker Bush, was born September 9, 1938 in Green County, KY. He died at 9:00amET on Sunday, October 3, 2021 in Campbellsville.  

 

He professed faith in Christ and was a member and deacon of Liberty Baptist Church. He was a Veteran and served his country honorably in the United States Army. Ed worked as a typesetter for the Greensburg Record Herald, the Lexington Herald Leader and the Bardstown local paper. From there, he began working at Taylor County Rural Electric Cooperative in Campbellsville as a Warehouse Manager for 22 years before retiring. Ed then devoted a great deal of his time operating the family farm in Mannsville. For relaxation, he loved to fish and hunt, especially when his grandchildren joined him.  

  

He united in marriage to Lula Rouse December 11, 1965.

Rosie Brady Roberts, 81, of Campbellsville, KY departed life on Friday October 1, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Spencer Brady and Leota Buckman Brady and was born July 21, 1940 in Marion County, KY.

 

Rosie's infectious smile and quiet demeanor had a way of lighting up a room. Her sincere concern and love for others always shined through. Rosie had a special way of finding the best of every situation and bringing a peaceful presence wherever she went. She professed her faith in Christ and was a loyal member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church since the 1960's. Rosie took great pride in raising her 3 beautiful children, but also impacted so many young lives in the community over the years. For several years she kept children in the home before she was a Teacher's Assistant at Campbellsville Elementary. While spending time with family and friends she loved playing cards and bowling, but most importantly loved that time to make memories.

 

She united in marriage with Neil Roberts Jr., September 26, 1964. He preceded her in death February 4, 2007.

Tommy Shirrell, 72, of Campbellsville, KY was born in Adair County, KY on July 18, 1949 to the late William “Billcat” and Lenora (Wright) Shirrell. He departed this life on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Taylor Regional Hospital.

 

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended New Journey Church. He was a 32 year employee of Fruit of the Loom, a manager at Save-A-Lot Foodmart, and a well-regarded home builder. After retirement, he was a driver for local car lots, moving vehicles to and from sale locations.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae (Corbin) Shirrell in 2011.

Irvin Wright, 97, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Milton Irvin Wright and Lizzie Sidebottom Wright was born March 30, 1924 in Taylor County, KY. He died at 6:00 A.M. on Friday, October 1, 2021 in Greensburg. 


He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Irvin was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He retired from the Kentucky Highway Department after 30 years service and was a farmer and truck driver. Irvin enjoyed being in the woods hunting for mushrooms and ginseng and visiting and talking with family and friends. He loved his church family and grandchildren.

 

He united in marriage to Myrtle Edith Curry July 3, 1954. She preceded him in death December 15, 1993. He married Rita Underwood in 1994 and she preceded him in death July 31, 2017.

Gary DeWayne Craig, 61, of Campbellsville passed from this life on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. Born in Marion County on March 6, 1960, he was the son of Jimmie and Dorothy (Johnson) Craig.. 

 

He was of the Christian faith. Mr. Craig worked in the pipeline industry as a safety manager. He had a big heart and spread laughter wherever he went. He enjoyed the freedom of the road on his Harley Davidson, and spent many hours shooting or hunting and fishing.

Travis Keith Snow, 58, of Campbellsville, KY passed away Friday at Taylor Regional Hospital.
