Margaret Suratt Dudley, 71, of Campbellsville, KY (formerly of Greensburg, KY), a daughter of the late Oscar Norman Suratt and Mattie Jewell Wright Suratt was born  April 3, 1950 in Burkesville, KY and departed this life on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Taylor Regional Hospital. 


She had made a profession of faith in Christ, attended the South Greensburg Baptist Church and was a beautician. She was owner and operator of the Vine Street Salon in Campbellsville.

CATHELINE RAFFETY, 83, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Catheline Raffety, 83, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Robert Newcomb and Viola Sapp Newcomb, was born January 3, 1938 in Marion County, KY. She died at 5:14 P.M., Thursday, April 29, 2021 in Campbellsville.   

 

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Catheline was a receiving clerk at Wal-Mart before retiring after 30+ years of service.

 

She united in marriage to Fred Raffety September 15, 1956 and he preceded her in death June 16, 2020.

Earmon Katherine Cundiff Perkins, 77, was born February 13, 1944 in Ginseng, KY to the late Malcolm Lee and Laurie Earmon Carter Cundiff. She departed this life Saturday, April 24, 2021 at her home in Magnolia, KY.

 

Earmon had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Greensburg Separate Baptist Church. 

 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 great-grandchildren: Andre Jayden Parrish and Richard Lee Parrish; 3 sisters and 2 brothers: Nova Oaks, Darlene Warren, Dixie Calhoun, John Cundiff and Gene Cundiff.

Courtney Rae Feduccia, 23, of Greensburg, KY, a native of Monticello, KY passed away Wednesday, April 21st, 2021.

 

Courtney was a daycare teacher at Busy Bees in Hodgenville, KY and was registered for fall classes at Campbellsville University to get her Associates Degree in Education. Courtney aspired to teach preschool.

 

She was preceded in death by her brother, Matthew Feduccia.

LANCE EDWARD JONES, 63, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Lance Edward Jones, 63, the son of the late Edith Laverne (Camdon) Jones, was born December 4, 1957 in Indiana and departed this life on Sunday, April 25, 2021 in Louisville at the Norton Hospital. 

         

He was a former employee of Campbellsville Industries and Autosmart and was of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Lance enjoyed fishing, drawing, singing, feeding the deer and other wildlife.

Brenda Sue Lawson Keltner, 64, of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Lyndsey Odell and Geraldine Thomas Lawson was born on January 20, 1957 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Monday, April 26, 2021 at the Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.

Victor G Perez, 73, was born August 3, 1947 in New York City, New York to the late Victor Manuel and Carman Irene Dohnert Perez. He departed this life Saturday evening, April 24, 2021 at his home in Green County, KY.

 

Victor was a restaurant owner. He was a graduate of Wingate High School in Brooklyn, New York.

 

He was united in marriage to Susan DeWitt Perez, who preceded him in death July 29, 2020.

DWIGHT ALLEN CRABTREE, 89, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Dwight Allen Crabtree, 89, of Campbellsville peacefully entered eternity on Saturday, April 24, 2021 in Louisville at the Norton Pavilion. He was born in Green County on March 15, 1932, a son of the late George Edward and Ada Lee (Milby) Crabtree.

 

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church. As a young man, Mr. Crabtree served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. Later, he retired from the City of Campbellsville as a Water Treatment Plant Operator. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 82 and the Elkhorn Masonic Lodge #568, F&AM.

  

Besides his parents, Mr. Crabtree was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mrs. Dorothy (Edrington) Crabtree on April 25, 2020; a son, Mr. Rhodom Edward “Pete” Crabtree on September 29, 2020; and his beloved dog, Dottie.

Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

LAQUITA HUNT, 87, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

LaQuita Hunt, 87, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Walter Charles Burress and Lyda Lois Blankenship Burress, was born October 24, 1933 in Marion County, Kentucky. She died at 3:15 P.M., Thursday, April 22, 2021 in Lebanon, KY. 

 

LaQuita professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church, where she was active with the Church nursery, WMU and Vacation Bible School. She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. LaQuita loved to cook and was best known for her turkey and dressing. All the family considered her to be a great mom who had a good Christian influence on everyone she met.

 

LaQuita united in marriage to Carl Hunt June 8, 1952 and he preceded her in death November 29, 2002. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Burress and a sister, Della Mae Burress, in infancy.

FRANKLIN ALLEN, 87, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Franklin Allen, 87, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Milton Allen and Katherine Croft, was born on January 19, 1934 in Tioga County, Pennsylvania. He departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at his home in Campbellsville, KY surrounded by his loving family. 

 

He served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War from 1954-1956. Franklin worked and retired as a foreman after 44 years with Ingersoll Rand. During his career he was given a choice of locations and he chose Campbellsville, KY as their new home. He loved tinkering, woodworking, and repairing old cars in his spare time.  

 

Franklin was preceded in death by one brother and one sister, Eldon Allen and Doris Farmelo.

She united in marriage to Hubert Cox August 3, 1946 and he preceded her in death April 3, 1989.

Gene Judd, 82, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Raymond Judd and Lenov Stilts Judd, was born January 28, 1939 in Green County, KY. He died at 1:55 A.M., Monday, April 19, 2021 in Campbellsville.    

 

He professed faith in Christ and was an active member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church, where he had been a deacon, Sunday School teacher and Sunday School director. He was a veteran having served his country honorably in the United States Army. Gene was a retired truck driver after 45 plus years; a job he truly loved. He loved his family and was known as a man of his word. Gene especially enjoyed mowing and trying to make his yard the best in the neighborhood.

 

He united in marriage to Pauline Benningfield October 28, 1964.

Henry Appleby of Campbellsville, 67, son of the late Chester Osby Appleby and Lois Glover Appleby, was born March 20, 1954 in Casey County, KY. He died at 6:38 P.M. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 in Louisville, KY.

 

Henry professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pine Grove Community Church. Henry was a retired employee of Cox Interior.   He loved working at his job as a mechanic.

Bruce Willard Milby, 85, of Campbellsville, KY son of the late Roy Milby and Irene W. Wilcoxson Milby, was born on Wednesday, May 29, 1935 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, April 17, 2021. 


He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Milby was also a Real Estate Agent, and was a United States Army Veteran having served between the Korean War and the Vietnam War.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Frances Cox Milby on February 16, 2017 having united in marriage on October 21, 1956. Mr. Milby was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Carol Yates.

Milerdine “Mammy” Paxton, 93, was born March 8, 1928 in Green County, KY to the late Wesley Woodford Akin, Sr. and Grace Henderson Akin. She departed this life Friday, April 16, 2021 at Green Hill Manor Nursing and Rehab.

 

Mammy had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. She worked at the Needle Craft and then later was a seamstress at the Fruit of the Loom and later retired from there. Mammy was a talented quilter and seamstress.

 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Heavy” Paxton; a son, J.D. Paxton; 1 daughter-in-law, Judy Paxton; 3 brothers: Robert Akin, Wesley Akin, Jr., and Theodore Akin; and a set of deceased infant siblings: Lillie May Akin and Leonard T. Akin.

Roscoe was an employee of Walmart in Columbia and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, watching football, taking care of his horses and watching western movies.

ROY NEVILLE BRAMEL, II, 77, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Roy Neville Bramel, II, 77, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Roy and Lelia Gretchen (Rucker) Bramel, was born in Flemingsburg, KY on July 29, 1943. He departed this life on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Hospital.

 

Roy had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Mannsville Christian Church. He retired from General Telephone after working as a lineman for 25 years, and had served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Roy enjoyed working with his hands, and was a man of many talents. As a noted reenactor of early American history, he had built several fully functional black powder rifles. He cherished time spent with his family; they speak fondly of times, often when on vacations, he would take them through various shops looking for photography equipment or collectible coins. Roy will be remembered best as a devoted husband and family man, always supporting his children and grandchildren in their endeavors.

Jeffrey Dale Karr, 66, of Campbellsville, KY passed from this life on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at his home. Hewas born on September 15, 1954 in Corbin, KY to Gloria Jean (Moore) and the late Noel Sam Karr.

 

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Karr was a retiree of B&B Railroad and Batesville Casket Company.

Virgil Thomas Cox, 70, of Campbellsville, KY passed peacefully from this life on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Taylor Regional Hospital. He was born on August 28, 1950 to the late Mike and Retha Merle (Johnson) Cox.

 

Virgil entered this world facing several hardships, yet all who know him speak highly of his kind and gentle demeanor, and cherish the time they had with him.

WANDA LYNN (NETHERLAND) GAINES, 78, HORSE CAVE, KY (TAYLOR CO. NATIVE)

 

Wanda Lynn Gaines, 78, passed away on April 2, 2021 (Good Friday) at her home. She was born in Taylor County, KY on October 21, 1942, a daughter of the late Raymond and Pauline Netherland.

 

Wanda attended Catholic School for most of her young life. Her family moved back to Taylor County in 1959. She attended Taylor County High School where she met her husband, Paul Gaines. They graduated in 1960 and married in 1961 in Celina, Tennessee. In 1969, they moved to Horse Cave, KY where they have remained. Wanda was a member of Horse Cave United Methodist Church. She worked at Horse Cave State Bank for many years. Once retired, she enjoyed gardening and making things from her flowers and herbs. She also enjoyed being on the water and enjoyed many boat and beach trips with her children and grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Netherland.

THOMAS OTHELLA MATTHEWS, 89, CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY

 

Thomas Othella Matthews, 89, of Campbellsville, KY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 after a long battle with leukemia. Born on October 27, 1931 in White Plains, KY (Hopkins County), to the late Rev. RV Matthews and Anna Belle Clark Matthews.

 

Tom’s early life was following his Methodist parents in their ministry around western Kentucky until his family’s move when he was seven years old to Columbia, Kentucky, after his father’s death. Excelling in academics he was Valedictorian of his 1950 class and “Big T” was a starter on the Columbia High School Red Hound basketball team. After graduation, he completed his degree in Business Administration at Lindsey Wilson College.

 

Tom then took his business talents to New Jersey where he worked on Wall Street as the office manager for Canning & Associates until his retirement in 2006. Returning to Kentucky reunited him with his beloved family and introduced him to his new church family at First United Methodist Church Campbellsville. A devoted Christian, Tom sang in the choir, was president of the Upper Room Sunday School Class, and was always ready to help out with anything that involved the children.

 

His greatest loves were his family, his church, the UK Wildcats, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Cleveland Indians. Tom could play piano by ear and was excited to celebrate his love for music when he discovered the music program at Campbellsville University. He was a fixture for many years at all concerts and recitals he could attend. Tom’s kindness, generosity, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Virginia O. Minor, 89, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Thomas Harvey Clark and Lottie Gray Johnson Clark, was born November 18, 1931 in Taylor County, KY. She died at 8:42 A.M. on Sunday, April 11, 2021 in Campbellsville.  

 

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist Church but attended Campbellsville Church of the Nazarene. Virginia was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and Publix. She loved life, and enjoyed being with friends and family, shopping, crocheting and working in her flowers.  

 

She united in marriage to Parker Minor and he preceded her in death February 28, 2001.

Anna Frances Price Money, 90, of Summersville, KY, daughter of the late Lewis Young Price and Carrie Thomas Johnson Price, was born on Thursday, September 18, 1930 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the Green Hill Rehab & Care Center.
 
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Hodges Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a retired inspector for Fruit of the Loom, Inc. after 20 plus years of service and was also a former teacher at the Bloyd’s Bluff School.

She united in marriage to Charles E. Money on October 31, 1952 who preceded her in death on May 30, 1986.

Donna Nolena Bryant, 74, of Hiseville, KY, daughter of the late Virgil Bryant and Pearly Evelyn Roberts Bryant, was born on Saturday, June 8, 1946 in Adair County, KY and departed this life on Thursday, April 8, 2021 in Hiseville.
 
She had made a profession of faith in Christ. Donna was a retired caretaker and had also worked as a machine operator for Fruit of the Loom.
 
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Eric Montgomery; a great grandchild, Erica Montgomery; 4 brothers and 2 sisters: Edrol Bryant, Willie Bryant, Jack Bryant, Wiburn Bryant, Lettie Mae Bryant and Mary Katherine Bryant.

HENRY GOFF, 76, GREENSBURG, KY

 

Henry Leslie Goff, 76, the son of the late Jesse Sr., and Rachel (Tucker) Goff was born November 20, 1944 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Monday, April 5, 2021 in Campbellsville at Taylor Regional Hospital. 

 

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Elk Horn Baptist Church. Henry was a former city councilman, a business owner, completed rebuilt vehicle titles, and had worked for Goff Mobile Homes.

Jerry had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He was retired from factory work.
 
He united in marriage to Paula Brown Boyd on June 25, 1999 who preceded him in death on April 25, 2020. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Johnnie Darvin Boyd.

She united in marriage to William Richard “Bill” Edwards on August 3, 1951 who preceded her in death on April 15, 2007.

Donald Keith Cox, 73, of Campbellsville, KY was born July 29, 1947 to Johnnie E. and Nancy Marie (Hardwick) Cox. He departed this life on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at his home.

 

He was a retired truck driver and farmer, and had served his country honorably in the United States Army. Mr. Cox had recently accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, and was of the Baptist faith.

Leroy had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Holly Grove Church. He was a retired line worker at G.E., a deacon, a member of the William B. Allen Masonic Lodge #232 F&AM and was an avid fisherman.

Master Genesis Wade Barlow-Welch, age 1 year & 8 months, of Campbellsville, KY was born on July 22, 2019 to Mitchell Lee Welch and Patricia Noelle Barlow. He entered his heavenly home on Monday, March 29, 2021.

 

Master Genesis was a bundle of love and energy; he was Mom’s “Happy Feet” and Dad’s “Turkey”. His hugs and snuggles will be cherished and remembered until God’s great reunion day.

Pauline McGinnis, 82 of Campbellsville, KY daughter of the late Toomie Dishman and Delia Dishman, was born October 4, 1938 in Wayne County, KY. She died at 11:25 A.M. on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in Greensburg.    

 

She professed faith in Christ and was of the Pentecostal faith. Pauline loved her family and enjoyed reading.

 

She united in marriage to Grady McGinnis January 15, 1955 and he preceded her in death March 17, 1994.

James Ray “Jimmy” Calhoun, 53, of Elk Horn, KY was born on November 20, 1967 in Franklin, Indiana to the late Frank and Juanita (Hughes) Calhoun. He departed this life on  Monday, March 29, 2021 at his home.

 

Jimmy had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Separate Baptist Church. He was a diesel mechanic and a former employee of Keyboard Carriage. Jimmy will be remembered as a family man; his grandchildren were paramount in his life.
