Jimmie Carl Edwards, 86, of Metcalfe County, KY, son of the late Carlie and Evelyn Matney Edwards, was born on April 15, 1939 in the Keltner Community of Adair County, KY. He departed this life on Friday, August 29, 2025 at the Metcalfe Health Care Center in Edmonton, KY.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Edwards retired from Armor Packing Company in Louisville and worked trimming trees.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Maedel Edwards, on August 29, 1998.

1 daughter: Sheila Reed of Louisville

1 son: Joe Edwards of Leitchfield

2 step-daughters: Mary and David Young of Edmonton and Tonie (& Tommy) Young of Sulphur Wells

5 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; & 9 step great-grandchildren

A host of other relatives & friends

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two children: Brenda Bobbitt and Pete Edwards; and ten siblings: Dorothy Curry, Granvil Edwards, Weldon Edwards, Evon Stolze, Gracie Bishop, Arlis Edwards, Sybil Bush, Robert Edwards, Jake Edwards and Larry Edwards.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 1:00pmCT at Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg 

Burial: Edwards Cemetery

Visitation: Tuesday after 11:00amCT

Pallbearers: Lonnie Edwards, Donnie Edwards, Carl Edwards, Adrian Edwards, Jeremy Edwards and Phillip Coffey
