Anthony Ray “Tony” Basil, 58, of Metcalfe County, KY, son of Bruce Basil and the late Judy Whobrey Basil, was born on December 20, 1966 in Louisville, KY. He departed this life on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at the Ascension St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, Tennessee.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Cumberland Presbyterian faith. Mr. Basil was a carpenter and employed by Scotty’s Reo. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

2 daughters: Stephanie Basil & fiancé Jason Scott, and Taylor Carol both of Metcalfe County

2 sons: Bruce “Jr.” Basil of Metcalfe County and Javen Basil of Bardstown

2 grandchildren

His father: Bruce Basil of Metcalfe County

2 brothers: Michael Basil and Phillip Basil, both of Metcalfe County

A host of other relatives & friends

In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by one son, Jesse Basil.

Burial: Big Meadow Church Cemetery 

Visitation: Tuesday after 10:00amCT at the funeral home

Pallbearers: Jr. Basil, Javen Basil, Michael Basil, Jason Scott, Ricky Roddy, Scotty Mosbey and Donnie North
