SUE PARROTT, 82, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Sue W. Parrott, 82, of Campbellsville, KY daughter of the late Ward Willington Fightmaster and Esther Mae Adams Fightmaster, was born June 25, 1937 in Harrison County, KY.  She died at 4:47 P.M., Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in Campbellsville.   
 
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church and under the watchcare of Boca Glades Baptist Church when in Florida. Sue was a retired educator with the Campbellsville Independent School System. She was on the Campbellsville City Council for fifteen years. Sue was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who loved playing bridge and traveling.
 
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan Coppage.
 
She united in marriage to Lanny L. Parrott June 18, 1956.

Joyce Ann Vance, 78, of Green County, KY daughter of the late William Thompson and Mildred Nile Thompson, was born on Sunday, December 7, 1941 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at her home. 
 
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. She was a retired machine operator for Fruit of the Loom, Inc. after 35 plus years of service. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, was a woman of great love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all of her family.
 
She united in marriage to Georgie H. Vance on June 15, 1957 who preceded her in death on February 22, 2003.
 
SURVIVORS: 2 daughters & sons-in-law: Darlene and Jeff Bishop, and Vickie and Chris Davis all of Greensburg; 3 grandchildren: Laura Ashley Herron and her husband, Talvan, Brad Davis and his wife, Sarah, Casey Russell and her husband, Joshua all of Greensburg; 1 grandson-in-law: Craig Judd of Greensburg; 9 great-grandchildren: Meredith and Hailey Judd, Marley, Raylen, and Ryder Davis, Charlee, Stella and Owen Russell, and Rylan Herron; 1 sister-in-law: Roberta Thompson of Louisville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

KENNY BROWNING, 78, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 

Kenny Browning, 78, of Campbellsville, KY son of the late Charles Browning and Florence Cooper Browning, was born September 22, 1941 in Marion County, KY. He died at 11:15 A.M., Monday, February 24, 2020 in Campbellsville.   
 
He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Kenny served his country honorable in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was a retired employee of Classic Kitchens. He was a member of the American Legion Post #82 and also volunteered at the C & S Mission Store.  He enjoyed refinishing furniture, watching UL and working in the yard.
 
He united in marriage to Cathie Schwartzmiller December 31, 1966.

Ronald Woodrum, 67, of Campbellsville, KY passed away Friday, February 21st, 2020. He was born on June 28, 1952 in Taylor County, KY a son of the late Ernest Woodrum and Doris Perkins Woodrum. 
 
Ronald had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Separate Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of General Electric Co. and a retired farmer of 30 years. He served his country honorably in the United States Army Reserves for 17 years attaining the rank of Drill Sergeant.
 
He united in marriage to Estelle Marie Atwood on August 22, 1970, who preceded him in death on January 23, 2012. He was also preceded in death by 1 grandson, Brandon Michael Woodrum and 1 sister, Charlene Hoosier.

James O’Neal “Pill” Cox, 67, of Elk Horn, KY was born on April 9, 1952 to the late Willard Cox and Hallie (Rash) Ratcliff. He departed this life on Friday, February 21, 2020 in Louisville at the Norton Hosparus Care Center.
 
Although disabled most of his life, he enjoyed tinkering around in scrapyards and looking for a bargain.
 
He was also preceded in death by a brother and sister: Don Cox and Gay Reed.

Maxine Hunt, 89, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Bennie Dewitt and Mary Hazel Skaggs Newcomb was born August 16, 1930 in Taylor County, KY. She died at 12:50 A.M., Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the Grandview Nursing Home.            
 
She professed faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of Mt. Washington Baptist Church. Maxine was a hard working wife and mother of farmers and daughters; she was a green thumb worker and later worked as a teacher’s aide at Taylor County. She was a great cook who always made sure there was plenty of food anytime a visitor stopped by. She worked hard to earn her GED in her 60’s was the class valedictorian
 
She united in marriage to Robert Clayton Hunt October 9, 1948 and he preceded her in death February 5, 2014. She was also preceded in death by 1 great-granddaughter, Rebecca Aline Hunt.

Geneva Harris Durham, 88, of Greensburg, KY passed away Friday night, February 21, 2020 in Greensburg. She was born on January 1, 1932 in Metcalfe County, KY, a daughter of the late Hazel Blaine Harris and Helen Coffey Harris.
 
Geneva had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church. She was a retired bank teller for the Greensburg Deposit Bank. Her proudest accomplishments though, were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
 
She united in marriage to Robert H. "Bobby" Durham on September 9, 1951 who preceded her in death on December 1, 2015.

Walter Michael “MIK” Reisinger, 75, of the Roley community of Adair County, KY was born July 13, 1944 and passed from this life on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at his home after an extended illness. He was a son of the late Melvin & Jene (Bennett) Reisinger.
 
Walter had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. As a young man, he joined the United States Navy, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He earned his living in the construction industry; he travelled extensively supporting his family and passing his abundant knowledge and work ethic on to his children. His gruff exterior belied a gentle giant that was a favorite grandfather, friend, and confidant to many.
 
Walter was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Reisinger.

RON "BAT" MASTERSON, 76, CAMPBELLSVILLE


Ron “Bat” Masterson, 76, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late John Masterson and Julia Cekus Masterson, was born June 19, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois.  He died at 1:29 A.M., Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in Campbellsville.   

 

Ron attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a retired union worker with the American Freight Systems. Ron was an avid fisherman and sports fan and especially enjoyed the Cubs and Bears. 

 

Ron united in marriage to Barbara Schultz September 21, 1968 and she preceded him in death January 3, 2011. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Carol Ann Masterson and a brother-in-law, Robert Arteaga.

Dennie Alvin Taul, 64, of Summersville, KY passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at  Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg. He was born on August 27, 1955 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, a son of the late Redis Alvin Taul & Betty Faye Pace Taul.
 
Dennie had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Brush Creek Baptist Church. He was an electrical assistant and contractor. Dennie was an exceptional drummer and well known for his outstanding ability as a percussionist.

Shelia Ann Underwood, 63, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Clifford Atkins and Mary Percell Atkins, was born April 13th, 1956 in Louisville, KY. She died at 4:35 P.M. Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Norton’s Hosparus in Louisville, KY.    
 
She professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Sheila was a devoted wife and a homemaker.
 
Sheila united in marriage to James Underwood on November 3, 2002.

Cynthia Ann Tucker, 61, the daughter of the late Robert L. and Dorothy Clara (Adam) Tucker, was born May 13, 1948 in Louisville and departed this life on February 12, 2020 in Greensburg at her residence.
 
Cynthia was of the Catholic Faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, working puzzles and cooking.
 
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Eddie Tucker and a sister: Sue Newcomb.

BERT RHODES, JR., 88, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 

Bert Rhodes, Jr., 88, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Bert Rhodes, Sr. and Marie Helms Rhodes was born September 22, 1931 in Taylor County, KY. He died at 4:45 P.M., Friday, February 14, 2020 in Louisville. 
 
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church. Bert had also attended Meadowview Baptist Church with his second wife and had helped with church meals at both churches. He was a retired employee of Fruit of The Loom where he worked in the cutting room. Bert enjoyed being outdoors as much as possible and was often seen sitting in his open garage waving at passers-by; he also enjoyed gardening and mowing when he was able. He loved being with family and friends and could always find someone with whom to strike up a conversation no matter where he was.
 
He united in marriage to Lorene Graham Rhodes March 31, 1956. She preceded him in death August 6, 2009.
 
He later united in marriage to Florence Mitchell Taylor Rhodes April 9, 2014. She preceded him in death October 8, 2018.
 
SURVIVORS: 2 daughters and 1 son: Betty Harmon and significant other Mark McFarland, Patricia Wheat and husband Doug and David Rhodes and wife Leslie of Campbellsville; 6 grandchildren and spouses: Jennie (Tony) Connor of Lexington, Amy (Sam) Watkins of Versailles, Benjamin (Brooke) Benningfield, Whitney (Ryan)Tungate, Rachel (Raphael) Cunha and Jennifer (Cody) Berry all of Campbellsville; 9 great-grandchildren: Ty and Elly Connor, Bella and Luke Benningfield, Bradyn Rhodes, Lia Cox, Carson Tungate and Cameron and Kaysen Watkins; 1 brother, Bobby Rhodes and wife, Phyllis of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Judy Benningfield, June 14, 2000 and two sisters and four brothers: Hilda Sublett, D.B. Rhodes, Barbara Cole, Shelly Rhodes, Edward Rhodes, and Don Rhodes.

Susan Alice Ewell Davis, 77, of Campbellsville, KY died Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Springview Hospital in Lebanon. She was born November 7, 1942 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, daughter of the late Raymond Ewell and Ellen Mitchell Ewell. 
 
She was a former bookmobile librarian for the Taylor County Public Library, a retired teacher for the Campbellsville Independent Schools, and a member of Bethel First Presbyterian Church.
 
SURVIVORS: 2 former spouses: Dennis G. Davis of Campbellsville and Joe C. Mary Pearl Harmon Moss, 88, of Summersville, KY, daughter of the late Willie Harmon and Gladys Corbin Harmon, was born on Friday, January 15, 1932 in Adair County, KY and departed this life on Monday, February 10, 2020 at her home. 
 
She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the South Summersville Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
 
She united in marriage to Harlan Edward Moss on January 14, 1952 who preceded her in death on July 10, 1973.
 
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Roger and Vickie Moss of Summersville; a son-in-law: Kelly Sawyer of Smith Grove; three grandchildren: Kevin Moss and his wife, Heather, Keith Moss all of Summersville, and Kyle Moss of Mississippi; five great-grandchildren: Mackenzie Skye Moss, Dakota Moss, Rosie Moss, Jacob Moss, and Isaac Moss all of Summersville; two sisters: Lizzie Veatch of Columbia, and Rosella Bennett of Russell Springs; a special friend: Henry Keltner of Adair County; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Randall G. Phillips, 79, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Joseph F Phillips and Maxine Gribbins Phillips, was born July 20, 1940, in Taylor County, KY.  He died at 1:09 P.M., Sunday, February 9, 2020 in Campbellsville
 
He served his country honorably in the Kentucky National Guard.  Randall professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. He was a graduate of the Bowling Green College of Commerce and was a long-standing member of Elk Horn Masonic Lodge #568 F&AM. He was a retired Taylor County Court Clerk after 29 years of service and had served under 4 governors.  He was also former owner and operator of Southern Binding.  He was known for being a staunch Republican. Randall loved golfing and anything “UK”.  He also enjoyed playing cards and spoiling his grandchildren.
 
He united in marriage to Pat Kearnes October 10, 1964.  
 
Besides his wife, Pat K. Phillips of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and one daughter:  Kevin Phillips and wife, Jamie of Campbellsville and Tracy Gibson and husband, Chip of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandsons:  Mason Phillips and Aidan Phillips of Campbellsville, Jake Gibson of Louisville and Noah Gibson of Shelbyville; one sister-in-law, Geraldine Phillips; one niece and one nephew: Jolene Kearnes of Florence and James Benningfield of Clarksville, Tennessee; special friend and caregiver, Joanie Bright of Campbellsville and many other relatives and friends.

She professed faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. Christine and her husband were the former owners and operators of Pedigo TV in Tompkinsville.  She loved to go fishing and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
 
She united in marriage to Harold C. Pedigo July 14, 1956 and he preceded her in death January 27, 2005.

Betty Blevins Young, 81, daughter of the late Ray E. Blevins and Sibyl Graham Blevins, was born August 18, 1938 in Taylor County, KY. She died at 7:33 A.M. on Friday, February 7, 2020 in Campbellsville. 
 
She professed faith in Jesus Christ and was a lifelong member of Good Hope Baptist Church. Betty was a former owner of Annetta’s Flowers and also spent many years working as a secretary and bookkeeper for the Taylor County School System.
 
She united in marriage to Murrell C. Young August 24, 1957.

NAOMIE RUTH TAYLOR, 84, GREEN CO.

 
Naomie Ruth Taylor, 84, of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Floyd Marshall Pope & Goldie Marie Drake Pope, was born March 15, 1935 Bartholomew County, Indiana. She died at 7:13 A.M. Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Jane Todd Crawford in Greensburg, KY.     
 
Naomie professed faith in Christ and was a member of Caldwell Ridge Baptist Church. Naomie was a devoted wife and a homemaker.
 
She united in marriage to Walter R. Taylor and he preceded her in death March 9, 1987.
 
SUIRVIVORS: 5 sons & 2 daughters: Danny Pope & wife Jeanine of Columbus, Indiana; Wallace Taylor & wife Crystal of Metcalfe County, KY; William Taylor & wife Jen of Columbia, KY; Kenny Taylor & wife Cheryl of Hazard, KY; Adam Taylor of Campbellsville, KY; Goldie Bybee & Tammy Taylor of Columbia, KY; several grandchildren and a host of many other relatives & friends.
 
She was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother.

BARBARA PELCHER, 81, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Barbara Pelcher, 81, of Campbellsville, KY passed away Wednesday January 15, 2020 in Campbellsville. 
 
SURVIVORS:
3 sons and 1 daughter: Robert Pelcher, Brian Pelcher, Jim Pelcher and Betty Pelcher all of Campbellsville.
 
Ms. Pelcher was preceded in death by her husband John Edward Pelcher on March 19, 2015, and her parents Albert Ansay and Cecile B. Chevalier of Rhode Island.
 
Cremation was chosen by the family and there will be no services.

LAUREN BRIDGEWATER, 34, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 

Lauren Bailey (Hurt) Bridgewater, 34, of Campbellsville, KY was born on April 5, 1985 in Henderson. She departed this life on Saturday, February 1, 2020 in Louisville at the Jewish Hospital. 
 
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Her unconventional and independent spirit will be dearly missed.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Bridgewater on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Shawn Coffey will be officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Brookside Cemetery immediately following the service.
 
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 10:00 AM until time for service.
 

CHARLES THOMAS MILBY, 77, GREEN CO.

 
Charles Thomas "Tom" Milby, 77, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Raven Thomas Milby and Laeola Akin Milby, was born December 8th, 1942 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. 
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville First United Methodist Church. He was a life insurance agent with Met Life for 35 years, and later established Tom Milby Financial Services Inc. He was a member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #F&AM, and was also a Lieutenant in the Army National Guard where he attended Officer Candidate School.
 
SURVIVORS: Wife of 55 years: Charlotte Atwell Milby of Campbellsville, having united in marriage on July 18, 1964; 1 aunt: Ann Akin of Greensburg; 1 uncle: Leonard Milby of Greensburg; 1 brother-in-law & 2 sisters-in-law: Rick & Deb Atwell of Greensburg, KY and Rhonda Atwell of Columbia, KY; 1 niece & 1 nephew: Kali Edward of Prospect & Josh Atwell of Versailles; 2 great-nieces: Marley Edwards & Sophia Edwards both of Prospect; a host of other relatives & friends.

WALTER SPURLING, 91, TAYLOR CO.

 

Walter E. Spurling, 91, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2020. He was born August 20, 1928 in Mannsville, KY to Benonie Spurling and Villa Cox Spurling.
 
Walter professed faith in Christ and was a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church where he served as trustee for several years. He began his career at Fruit of the Loom then worked hard logging trees and hauling vaults. Walter was co-owner of Central Kentucky Vault Company for several years and also a farmer. He was known for his infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit.
 
He united in marriage to Imogene Creech August 9, 1950 and she preceded him in death March 13, 2019.
 
SURVIVORS: 1 sister, Doris Bade of Indianapolis, Indiana; 2 sisters-in-law: Brenda Viars and husband Danny and Connie Lynn Smith and husband Bill of London, KY; his special caregivers and supporters Elaine “Sissy” Childers of Campbellsville and Lonnie Spurling and wife Becky of Elk Horn; several nieces & nephews and many other relatives & friends.
 
He was preceded in death by his father, Benonie, his mother, Villa, his wife, Imogene and his two brothers and three sisters: Clifton, Lemuel, Regena, Inez and Katie.

Kenneth Leibee, 74, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Ken Leibee and Jane Harris Leibee was born September 27, 1945 in Huntington, West Virginia. He died at 1:31 A.M., Saturday, February 1, 2020 in Campbellsville.           
 
Kenneth professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Washington Baptist Church. He was a retired mechanic and former employee of Ashland Broadway and Cox Interior. Kenneth was known as a story teller and a big cut-up.
 
He united in marriage to Judy Price February 16, 1991.

Irma Jane Gilpin, 94, of Campbellsville, KY was born on February 18, 1925 to the late Ben and Emma (Stillwell) Thompson. She departed this life on Friday, January 31, 2020 in Campbellsville.
 
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Soules Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a retiree of Fruit of the Loom and an exceptional cook. Always cherishing life’s blessings, she never met a stranger, and equally shared her kindness and love with all she knew.
 
Mrs. Gilpin was the devoted wife of Mr. Edwin Gilpin, who preceded her in death on April 18, 2009 after 58 years of marriage.

He had served in the United States Air Force and was a retired Maintenance Mechanic for Valvoline Oil and Lube.

She united in marriage to Robert Floyd "Bobby" English on July 7, 1956 who preceded her in death on June 7, 2009.
 
Mrs. English was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Joyce English in 1958.
