Michael Paxton Ennis, 73, Greensburg, KY

Michael Paxton Ennis, 73, a son of the late Paul Henderson Ennis and Nellie Graves Paxton, was born on February 13, 1952 in Greensburg, KY and departed this Earth on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Mr. Ennis was a proud veteran, loving father & grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and a deeply loyal friend. He passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of patriotism, laughter, friendship, and unconditional love to all he knew.

Mike never met a stranger and was always the first to share a smile or strike up a conversation. He lived to laugh and made sure everyone around him did too. A true storyteller and a one-of-a-kind character, he found joy in the simplest things.

A proud U.S. Army veteran and longtime member of the American Legion, Mike loved his country and served it with honor. He played taps for countless veterans over the years in honor of their service — a gesture that spoke to the deep respect he carried for those who served.

Mike was lovingly known to those closest to him as “Ukie,” a nickname that carried with it decades of mischief, humor, and affection. His friendships meant the world to him, and many of his closest friends had been by his side since childhood.

He spent much of the latter part of his life as a truck driver, traveling across the U.S., stopping in to see friends and family along the way, and sharing his adventures through pictures. He also had a fierce love for The Eagles and Kentucky Wildcats basketball - he proudly bled blue; in his own words, he was “allergic to red.”

1 daughter: Margaret Casey “Ennis” Sprabary & husband Chris Sprabary

1 son: Walsh Ennis of Ponder, Texas

2 grandsons: Jay Guajardo and Nash Sprabary of Ponder, Texas

2 nieces: Jackie Knipp & husband Jeff, and Jamie Ennis

Several special great nieces & nephews

A lifetime of dear friends who were like family

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Adolphus & Vera Ennis; and his maternal grandparents, Creed & Olive Paxton.

Mike’s life was full of sincerity, humor, and love — and his quiet faith in Jesus carried him through life’s highs and lows. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Dad’s wishes were to be cremated and brought home to Green River in lieu of a formal service. A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Hall in Greensburg, KY on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 1:00pmCT for all who knew and loved my sweet daddy.

MayDean Curry, 92, Campbellsville, KY

MayDean Curry, 92, of Campbellsville, KY passed from this life on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Bluegrass Way Senior Living, where she was surrounded by her family and friends, both in person and in spirit. She was born on February 25, 1933 in Green County, KY to Lonnie and Evie Thompson Atwell.

She was the baby of twelve children and we never tired of hearing the stories of the antics with her brothers and sisters. MayDean’s parents and all of her siblings have gone home to be with the Lord and we have faith that they are having a wonderful Atwell reunion in heaven!

On March 10, 1955 MayDean married the love of her life, Kendell Curry in Green County, KY. Kendell and MayDean were married for 56 years when Kendell passed away on October 31, 2010.

MayDean traveled through life with a humble servant’s heart. She was a servant leader, perhaps even prior to the term being coined. And, in her understated and unassuming way, MayDean positively impacted her community and church through sharing both talent and time. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church, joining when she and Kendall moved to Campbellsville in 1962. She participated in WMU, children’s Sunday School, Young at Heart and a multitude of church committees and activities. MayDean was also one of the first members of the Grief Ministry. She organized and prepared hundreds of meals for the family of church members and did so without complaint. She always considered it a way to serve her Lord through sharing a meal. She often shared laughter and tears with the family members and always shared God’s love.

MayDean possessed an unshakeable faith and eternal optimism. She believed in brighter days ahead, and in God’s goodness and His ultimate plan, which she relentlessly held onto in times of joy, times of struggle, and during all the seemingly ordinary days in between. She was, and will continue to be, a shining example to us and to all those whose paths she crossed.
