Jeannette Rose (Akin) Milby, 84, was born April 14, 1940 in Green County, KY to the late Elsie Mae (Combs) Akin and Walter Samuel Akin. She passed away with family by her side on Friday, August 23, 2024.
Besides her parents, Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Wayne Milby, and three siblings: Donald Ray Akin, Sarah Lucille Moran, and Bobby Gene Akin.
After working 30+ years at Fruit of the Loom company and Green County Schools, Jeannette ran her own paint and wallpaper business until she retired. She and her husband, Aaron Wayne, helped establish and organize the Summersville Days festival on behalf of the Summersville Volunteer Fire Department. She will be remembered for her devotion to family and friends, the warmth and kindness she displayed to everyone she met, and her infinite skills in the kitchen.

1 grandson: James Grant Milby & wife Holly Lynn Ratliff of Richmond, Virginia
1 granddaughter: Anne Kathryn Milby-Anderson & husband Ian Anderson of Richmond, Virginia
Sister-in-law: Barbara Rose Dalton of Scottsdale, Arizona

Funeral Service: Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 12:00pmCT at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 West Court Street, Greensburg, KY with Rev. Earlene Branstetter officiating
Interment: N.C. Milby Cemetery in the Gabe community
Visitation: After 10:00amCT on Saturday
Pallbearers: Grant Milby, Ian Anderson, Don Sharp, Greg Atwell, Larry Dupps, Chuck Smith
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be made through donations to the Summersville Volunteer Fire Department. These can be made at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home.
