Richard Allen Denton was born December 22, 1937 in Campbellsville, KY to the late William "Bill" Denton and Elizabeth Abell. He departed this life on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Baptist Health Hospital in Louisville, KY. 

He professed hope in Christ at a revival at Pleasant Union, carried on by Rev. Leonard Buckner of Danville, KY and joined Pleasant Union under Rev. Donahue Price. Bro. Denton served as a faithful member of the Trustee Board until the illness of his wife in 2012. He had a farm and had a great love for farming as long as he was able.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Geneva Denton and several siblings.

4 children: Arlester McElroy of Campbellsville, KY, Stanley McElroy (Norma) of Elizabethtown, KY, Fabian McElroy of Louisville, KY, and Donita McElroy Logan (Mark) of Atlanta, GA

10 grandchildren
