Ruth Frances Wright Durrett, 81, of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Cecil Wright and Lillian Bennett Wright, was born on November 11, 1942 in Green County and departed this life on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at the Bengal Family Care Home.
Ruth had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a retired Summersville Postmaster having worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years. Ruth was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Green County Fair Board.

2 daughters & sons-in-law: Darlene & Jack Henderson and Lana & Danny Bush, of Greensburg
5 grandchildren: Casey & Chris Lay of Summersville, Corey & Michael Samples of Frankfort, Emillee & Jonathan Whitlow of Greensburg, Becca Bush of Greensburg, and Colton Bush & fiancé Courtney of Lexington
4 great-grandchildren: Max Whitlow, Ellie Whitlow, Campbell Lay, and Cooper Ruth Lay
2 sisters: Barbara Beams of Magnolia and Celia Milby of Louisville
Sister-in-law: Juanita Wright
A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends
Besides her parents, Ms. Durrett was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carly Henderson; a brother, Ray Wright; a sister, Alsie Pickerell; and an infant brother, Harlan Wright.

Visitation: Friday, August 30, 2024 from 4:00pm-8:00pmCT and Saturday after 7:00amCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of a donation to the Gideon Bible Fund or to the Bengal Family Care Home, which can be made at the funeral home.
