Lester Albert "Les" Williamson, 74, Summersville, KY

 

Lester Albert “Les” Williamson, 74, of Summersville, KY, son of the late Fred and Mary Majtyka Williamson, was born on July 30, 1950 in Gary, Indiana. He departed this life on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY.

 

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended Hodges Chapel Church. Mr. Williamson served his Country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After retiring from truck driving, he enjoyed spending time at T-Mart drinking coffee with his friends.

 

SURVIVORS:

His wife of over 42 years: Shelia Money Williamson of Summersville 

1 daughter & son-in-law: Lindsay & Jami Couch of Tennessee

2 grandchildren: Adalynn Carrie Couch and Jude Benjamin Couch, both of Tennessee

3 sisters: Karen Shepard and Esther Zimmerman both of Indiana, and Eleanor “Dee Dee” Bray of Florida

Brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Pat Williamson of Indiana, Shirley & Jerry Bale, and Michael Scott Money all of Summersville, C.E. & Judy Money of Greensburg, and Sharon & Richard Milby of Glasgow

A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends

 

He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Jewell Williamson, Frances and Noel Willis, and Ellen and Bart Ahern; and four brothers and one sister-in-law: Fred and Bev Williamson, Dale Williamson, Dan Williamson and Rodney Williamson.

 

Funeral Service: Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 1:00pmCT at Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with Bro. Meryl Young officiating

 

Burial: Hodges Chapel Cemetery with full military honors by the Marion County Veteran Honor Guard

 

Visitation: Friday from 5:00pmm-8:00pmCT and Saturday after 7:00amCT at the funeral home

 

Expressions of sympathy are requested to be made in the form of donations to the Hodges Chapel Cemetery, which can be made at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers: Scott Money, Jerry Bale, C.E. Money, Clint Bale, Kevin Price, Josh Price and J.K. Frye

 

Honorary Pallbearer: Richard Milby
