Prunice Delbert Barnett, 81, was born March 29, 1944 to the late Vernon and Nellie Barnett in Hart County, KY. On Thursday, July 24, 2025, God saw fit to call him home at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.
He professed his faith at an early age at Mount Gilboa Baptist Church in Hart County, KY. Prunice worked as a welder at Kentucky Trailer in Louisville, KY for 30 years. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time at home in his garage no matter the weather. Everyone knew he would be in his garage rain or shine, hot or cold. The garage was his sanctuary, and it became a popular sitting spot for family and friends. If the garage could talk, it would have many stories to tell. Before his health failed him, he would also enjoy mowing his lawn and working on vehicles.
To know Prunice was to love him. He enjoyed teasing and picking on family and friends. He even teased and joked in his final hours. He would always say, "If I didn't like you, I wouldn't pick on you or talk to you".
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers: Farris Barnett and Warren (Tom) Barnett; one sister, Rebecca Garnett; four nephews and two nieces.
