John "Dickie" Kirtley, Jr., 74, Campbellsville, KY

 
John “Dickie” Kirtley, Jr., 74, of Campbellsville, KY, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was born in Taylor County on November 7, 1950 to the late John Richard “J.R.” and Corine Gay (Clark) Kirtley.
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a deacon at Green River Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Kirtley was a retired employee of Parker Kalon and was a farmer. He especially enjoyed driving his antique John Deere tractors and studying genealogy, but his true passion was his family. He was an exceptional “Pa”, and loved taking care of “his girls”, ranging from his cherished wife Mary Lynn to his granddaughters, and was always proud of his grandson, Dylan. He was a devoted servant of Christ’s and served His church as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher, even leading the RA Youth Group at times and recently overseeing the church cemetery.
 
SURVIVORS: 
His wife: Mary Lynn (Rucker) Kirtley
1 daughter: Kathy Arnold and husband Larry of Campbellsville
4 siblings: Vickie Brockman of Lebanon, Charlotte Clark & husband Danny, Sherry Cambron, and Donna Kirtley, all of Campbellsville
3 grandchildren: Katelyn Arnold & significant other Ben Siems of Pocatello, ID, Dylan Arnold of Washington, D.C., and Sharon Kirtley of Casey County
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives & friends
His fur babies: Bella, Ace, and Molly; and his cat, Patches
 
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles David “Cookie” Kirtley and a brother, David Allen Kirtley.
 
FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 2:00pmET at L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville, KY with Bro. Ray Judd and Bro. Jerry Smith officiating
 
INTERMENT: Green River Memorial  Baptist Church Cemetery
 
VISITATION: Saturday after 12:00pmET until time for the service
