Scotty Lane Cocanougher Clenney, 83, Scottsville, KY (formerly of Greensburg)

 
Scotty Lane Cocanougher Clenney, 83, of Barren River Lake, Scottsville, KY (formerly of Greensburg), passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025 in the care of her son and daughter-in-law in White House, TN. A native of Washington County, KY she was born on August 29, 1941 to the late William “Bill” and Ruby Christerson Cocanougher.
 
She was a member of the Scottsville Baptist Church, a 1959 graduate of Springfield High School, a 1964 graduate of Campbellsville College, and a 1993 graduate of Western Kentucky University. Scotty was a school teacher having taught both elementary and high school in Boyle, Hardin and Taylor counties as well as a counselor at Taylor County High School. Following her teaching career, she served as a counselor for the Department of Human Resources for Kentucky. One of Scotty’s greatest achievements was designing the Seal for Campbellsville College in 1961 that is still used today.
 
Preceding her in death was a brother, Bruce Cocanougher on July 6, 2022 and a sister, Connie Johnson on February 10, 2012.

Her husband of 63 years: Rev. Ty Clenney of Barren County, KY
2 sons: Tim Clenney (Laurie) of White House, TN and Thomas Clenney of Nashville, TN
1 granddaughter: Kyra Sharp (Christian) of Elizabethtown, KY
3 great-grandchildren: Logan Sharp, Kasey Sharp and Hunter Sharp
1 brother: Stewart Cocanougher (Pat) of Danville, KY
 
Funeral Service: Sunday, August 3, 2025 at 2:00pmET at Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield with Rev. Aaron Sherrell officiating
 
Burial: Bethlehem Cemetery in Springfield, KY
 
Visitation: After 12:00pmET on Sunday at the funeral home
