MITCHELL CLAYTON SEABORNE, 79, TAYLOR COUNTY, KY

 

Mitchell Clayton Seaborne, 79, of Speck Ridge Community was born in Taylor County on November 5, 1941 to the late Coakley D. Seaborne and Vernie Mae Williams Seaborne of the Speck Community of Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at his home.

 

He professed his faith in Christ and was of Baptist faith. Mitchell graduated from Taylor County in 1960 and had attended Speck School for primary. He joined the navy in 1960 for a 4-year enlistment. Mitchell worked at Ford Motor, GE, Ingersoll Ran, owned and operated the Bean Pot Restaurant, ran Taylor County Stockyard Restaurant, and his final beloved job as a member of the State Highway Department where he loved to mow and ran the salt trucks in winter. He retired after 25 years working for the State Highway Department. He was a lover of history and aspired earlier to be a history professor, he loved a slick mowed yard, was also an avid UK Basketball fan, coach of many local youth sports of girls and boys, was in the Democratic party, loved his children and grandchildren.

 

SURVIVORS:

His wife of 50 years: Maureen Gribbins Seaborne  

1 daughter: Kathy Jo England & husband Wes of Campbellsville

1 son: Wesley Clayton Seaborne of Campbellsville

1 sister: Phyllis (Roland) Fennell of Shepherdsville

2 brothers: Norman Seaborne and Coakley Seaborne Jr., both of Campbellsville

4 grandchildren: Dalton Adkins and Dakota Slone of Campbellsville; Drake Seaborne and Lilly Seaborne of Hart County

4 step-granddaughters: Ashley Crain and husband Brad, Shelby Burton and husband Chase, Hannah England, and Tiffany Lamer and husband Nicky, all of Campbellsville

 

Besides his parents Mitchell is proceeded in death by 3 brothers: David Seaborne, Paul Seaborne (both died in infancy), and Phillip Seaborne; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law: Mildred & Travis Giles and Becky Seaborne Brown.

 

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, October 15, 2021 at 1:00pmET at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville with Bro. Richie Carroll officiating 

 

BURIAL: Tallow Creek Cemetery

 

VISITATION: After 10:00amET on Friday at Auberry Funeral Home 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for expressions of sympathy please take the form of donations to Alzheimer's Foundation and can be made at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers: Harold Gribbins, Drake Seaborne, Dakota Slone, Wes England, Dalton Adkins, and Nicholas Lamer.
