Tommy Shirrell, 72, of Campbellsville, KY was born in Adair County, KY on July 18, 1949 to the late William “Billcat” and Lenora (Wright) Shirrell. He departed this life on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Taylor Regional Hospital.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended New Journey Church. He was a 32 year employee of Fruit of the Loom, a manager at Save-A-Lot Foodmart, and a well-regarded home builder. After retirement, he was a driver for local car lots, moving vehicles to and from sale locations.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae (Corbin) Shirrell in 2011.

1 daughter: Melinda Thompson and husband Lewis of Campbellsville

3 stepchildren: Anita Wilkerson and husband Daryl of Horse Cave, Lynn Benningfield and wife Teresa of Campbellsville, and Gary Benningfield and wife Glenda of Louisville

1 sister: Beverly Smith of Nashville

He was also preceded in death by six siblings: Johnny Shirrell, Jerry Shirrell, Eugene Shirrell, Kathleen Bishop, Judy Dicken, and Sue Powell.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, October 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY.
 

BURIAL: Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery

VISITATION: The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 7, from 5:00-8:00 PM.
