Wanda Lynn Gaines, 78, passed away on April 2, 2021 (Good Friday) at her home. She was born in Taylor County, KY on October 21, 1942, a daughter of the late Raymond and Pauline Netherland.

Wanda attended Catholic School for most of her young life. Her family moved back to Taylor County in 1959. She attended Taylor County High School where she met her husband, Paul Gaines. They graduated in 1960 and married in 1961 in Celina, Tennessee. In 1969, they moved to Horse Cave, KY where they have remained. Wanda was a member of Horse Cave United Methodist Church. She worked at Horse Cave State Bank for many years. Once retired, she enjoyed gardening and making things from her flowers and herbs. She also enjoyed being on the water and enjoyed many boat and beach trips with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Netherland.

3 children: Janie Branstetter (Mark) of Lynn Haven, FL, Doug Gaines (Laura) of Park City, KY, Gary Gaines (Angie) of Myrtle Beach, SC

6 grandchildren: Steven Branstetter (Nicole), Stuart Branstetter (Tara), Emily Matthews (Luke), Ryan Gaines, Lauren Gaines, and Nicholas Gaines

3 great-granddaughters: Rylan, Ellie, and Aubrey, and one on the way

3 sisters: Dena Creel, Paula Bost, and Jill Caulk

Memorial Service: Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 11:30amCT at the Horse Cave United Methodist Church

Visitation: After 10:00amCT on Thursday at the church
