Milerdine “Mammy” Paxton, 93, was born March 8, 1928 in Green County, KY to the late Wesley Woodford Akin, Sr. and Grace Henderson Akin. She departed this life Friday, April 16, 2021 at Green Hill Manor Nursing and Rehab.
Mammy had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. She worked at the Needle Craft and then later was a seamstress at the Fruit of the Loom and later retired from there. Mammy was a talented quilter and seamstress.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Heavy” Paxton; a son, J.D. Paxton; 1 daughter-in-law, Judy Paxton; 3 brothers: Robert Akin, Wesley Akin, Jr., and Theodore Akin; and a set of deceased infant siblings: Lillie May Akin and Leonard T. Akin.

3 great-grandchildren: Braeden Paxton, Jasey Beard, and Brylee Paxton
3 step-great-grandchildren: Kyle Wilson, Cody Wilson, and Kane Wilson & wife Brittani
3 great-great-grandchildren: Hadley Wilson, August Wilson, and Arlo Wilson
