Body Found Near Pitman Creek in Green County Friday Afternoon

 
A body was found Friday afternoon on the banks of Pitman Creek near Summersville in Green County, Big Dawg news has learned that two kayakers were floating the creek and discovered a partially decomposed body of a female.
 
Green County authorities were alerted to the scene, the body was taken to the state medical examiners office to determine the cause of death and positive identification.

from the Big Crappie Quest at Green River Lake - COLUMBIA, KY

 

The National Crappie Trail visited Green River Lake, KY, for a Big Crappie Quest on

May 2, 2026. With anglers from over 7 different states, they faced classic early May

conditions in central Kentucky, with temperatures ranging from the mid 50s in the morning to

the mid 70s by the afternoon, along with periods of passing clouds and light spring showers

and breezy winds across the lake. Despite the changing weather and occasional chop on the

water, fish remained active enough to give competitors quality bites throughout the day.

 

OVERALL WINNERS:

 

 1st Place: Tim Wright: 1.95 lbs
 

2nd Place: Alex Cochran: 1.92 lbs
 

3rd Place: Mason Swarens: 1.79 lbs

Campbellsville Man Critically Injured in Sunday Morning Crash

On May 3, 2026 at approximately 3:15 AM the Campbellsville Police Department responded to an injury accident at the intersection of East Broadway and Watertower Bypass, according to Campbellsville Police Chief Shannon Wilson the preliminary investigation revealed that Kern Kost, age 27, of Campbellsville, was traveling west on East Broadway in a 2011 Chevy Silverado, while traveling west on Broadway, Mr. Kost attempted to turn left on to Watertower Bypass where he failed to negotiate the turn, ultimately colliding with a concrete embankment in a head on manner.

Kost was transported to Taylor Regional Hospital where he was later airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital for further treatment. Kost is listed in critical condition at this time.
