Two People Located after Fleeing in Greensburg Police Cruiser

On November 26th, 2023 at approximately 1915 hours an officer with the Greensburg Police Department attempted to serve an arrest warrant on a Green County man at an address on Creason Lane in Greensburg.
The officer located Jason Marta of Greensburg and was involved in a minor altercation while attempting to take him into custody. The officer was able to place the Marta into cuffs and placed him into his police cruiser. While the officer was still attending to the male subject after the altercation, a female identified as Alisha Posey age 30 of Greensburg entered the driver’s seat.
 
While the officer was attempting to regain control of the vehicle, Posey accelerated towards the officer, shots were fired into the vehicle, Posey was able to escape the scene in the police cruiser with the male arrestee still in the cruiser.
 
The police cruiser was later located on Marshall Ridge Road in Greensburg unoccupied.
 
Just after 3am this morning police Posey and Marta were located and taken into custody without injury.
 
 
Kentucky State Police will be conducting the officer involved shooting investigation and more details will be released by Kentucky State Police at a later time.

Two People Wanted in Connection with Theft of Police Cruiser in Greensburg

Kentucky State Police is investigating a situation that occurred in Greensburg Sunday night, in a press release issued by the Greensburg Police Department an officer was attempting to serve a warrant on a man on Creason lane just off Campbellsville road when a minor altercation occured, the man was cuffed and placed in the Greensburg Police cruiser when a female approached the officer and the wanted man fleeing the scene in the police cruiser with cuffed man in the back seat, the Greensburg Police Officer then fired shots into the crusier posibly striking the female driver.

The cruiser was found but the two people remain at large.

The case remains under investigation by KSP.

Taylor County Man Faces Sexual Misconduct Charges Involving a Child

A Campbellsville man has been indicted in a case of sexual misconduct involving a child under 12 years of age, Cedrick Hall age 50 is facing 23 counts of sodomy, sexual abuse, and resisting arrested after being indicted Tuesday by the Taylor County Grand Jury.

The Campbellsville Police Department charged Hall with an additional case of resisting arrest.

Big Dawg News has learned these sex crimes were committed on Birdie Drive, Sharon Drive and Saloma road, Cedrick Hall has been incarcerated at the Taylor County Detention Center. 

Mt. Sherman Man Dies as Result of Motorcycle Accident

Big Dawg News has learned that Donnie Wilson of Mt Sherman was on his way to vote on Tuesday November 7th when a tire blew out on his motorcycle, Wilson lost control of the bike and was taken to the hospital where he died this week as a result of injuries received in the mishap. 

Green County Sheriffs Department investigated. 

Boil Water Advisory Issued by Columbia/Adair County

A BOIL WATER ADVISORY is in effect for consumers on 5237-8520 Greensburg Rd, all side roads in between, Dick Grant Rd, Becam Rogers Rd, Brockman Keltner Rd. Bull Run & all side Roads. Knifley Road & all side Roads. 4172-7299 Campbellsville Rd & all side roads. Dulworth Road, Huntington way & all side roads. Griffin Spring Road. 811-924 Coburg Rd, Pellham Branch Road & all side Roads.

The advisory has been issued due to  an emergency tank repair.

           

Following such an event, the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply therefore this Boil Water Advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure.

 

 

Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using.

 

 

This advisory will remain in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality.

State Police Investigated a Fatal Collision in Campbellsville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.  (November 8, 2023) – On November 8, 2023 at approximately 2:02 P.M. EST, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 15 Troopers responded to a two-vehicle injury collision on Lebanon Avenue, near Miller Park, in the city limits of Campbellsville.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Janet Burton, age 84 of Campbellsville, was traveling north on Lebanon Avenue in a 2005 Toyota Solara when she crossed the centerline of the roadway and entered the southbound lane of travel.  Ms. Burton then collided with a 2017 Infiniti QX50 traveling south on Lebanon Avenue.  The Infiniti QX50 was operated by Janis Atwood, age 60 of Campbellsville.  

Ms. Burton was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Taylor County Coroner.  Ms. Atwood was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital with serious injuries. 

KSP Post 15 Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Campbellsville Police Department, Taylor County Sheriff's Office, Campbellsville Fire and EMS, Campbellsville Rescue Squad, and Taylor County Coroner.  The collision remains under investigation by Senior Trooper Weston Sullivan.

Two Men Charged after a Weekend Burglary at Taylor County Attorneys Office

Two people were arrested Saturday night just after 11pm on charges of burglarizing the Taylor County Attorneys office, Big Dawg News has learned that Campbellsville Police responded to the burglary in progress at Bertram, Cox & Miller and upon arrival, officers located an open door, after entering the building, officers located the two men inside, city police say it was determined that the two males had unlawfully entered the building and took cash and a firearm, the two men were identified as, 20 year old Adrien Smith,

and 18 year old Tavon Reed, both of Campbellsville were arrested and charged with the following:

Burglary 1st Degree

Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree.

Both were lodged in the Taylor County Jail.

 

 

Campbellsville Firemen Called to Residential Fire on Tuesday

 

 

Campbellsville Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a report of a working house fire tuesday afternoon at 407 Lowell Avenue, fire chief Chris Taylor told 99.9 The Big Dawg News that upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the eves of the house. Firefighters found fire in the kitchen area extending to the attic of the house. Firefighters extinguished the fire, searched for occupants, provided overhaul and provided oxygen to the homeowners cat-recovering well. No firefighter or civilian injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

Campbellsville Woman is Charged With Abusing Child

A Taylor County woman has been indicted on charges of criminal abuse of a child, the Taylor County Grand Jury returned  a criminal indictment against Debra G. Sallee of Campbellsville, Sallee is charged with abusing a child under 12, assault. The grand jury refers to this case as cruel punishment to a child under 12.

 
This case is a legal accusation.

Taylor County Minister Indicted on Rape Charges

A local minister has been indicted by the Taylor County grand jury in Campbellsville, Michael L. Gribbins of Campbellsville is facing charges of rape, unlawful transaction with a minor, sexual abuse. the grand jury says the crimes occurred on Sunny Hill Drive and a numerous time at Green River Lake.

Death Investigation Into Husband & Wife Death at Buffalo

The LaRue County Sheriffs Department is investigating the death of a Buffalo Kentucky couple, Big Dawg News has learned that officers were making a welfare check at residence on Alvin Brooks road when they found the bodies of Kenneth & Linda Whitlock, the couple had been deceased for a few days, the investigation continues by the LaRue County Sheriffs Department in Hodgenville.
