Marion County Home Shot Into, Sheriff is Seeking Information

On July 26 at 11:05 a.m. the Marion County Sheriff’s Office received the report of a house that had been shot into on Horan Lane, the responding Deputy was advised by the victim that at approximately 2:30am that morning he heard numerous loud pops and thought it may have been fireworks.

Later that same morning he found what appeared to be a bullet hole in the headboard of his bed near where he had been sleeping, a single bullet was recovered from the bed, a hole was found on the outer wall of the home and (3) spent shell casings were found at the end of the driveway to this home.

Deputy Sheriff Jeff Caldwell continues with the investigation, anyone with information related to this crime are asked to contact the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 270-692-3051.

A Campbellsville Woman Died in One Vehicle Accident in Green County

A Taylor County woman died Monday in a one vehicle accident on Highway 323 the Bengal Road in Green County, Big Dawg News has learned that Chandra Calhoun lost control of her auto and overturned and was pronounced dead by the Green County Coroners Office.  

TC Firemen Called to Outbuilding Fire on Monday

 
Taylor County Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire Monday afternoon at 2573 Roberts Rd. Upon arrival firefighters found a small storage building with flames showing., the fire was extinguished with no damage to nearby structures.
No injuries reported.

Man Dies After Lawn Mower Accident near Taylor/Marion County Line

 
On Friday July 25 at approximately 4:11 p.m., deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a man trapped under an over-turned lawn mower near the Marion-Taylor County line on Mt. Gilboa Road.
Upon arrival responders found  Raymond A. Morris age 71 of Campbellsville, trapped beneath a zero-turn style lawn mower,  Morris was pronounced deceased at the scene.
 
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office investigated the fatal mishap.

Man Arrested on Bank Robbery Charges

Campbellsville Police has arrested 53-year old David S. (Razor) Cox of Campbellsville for the robbery of Citizens Bank on Main Street. Mr. Cox has been charged with the following and lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center: Robbery 2 nd degree Fleeing or Evading Police 2 nd degree Tampering with Physical Evidence. 

Citizens Bank on Main Street Was Robbed Friday Morning

On Friday, July 25, 2025 at approximately 9:00 a.m., Campbellsville Police received a call of a robbery at Citizens Bank on Main Street. A white male approximately 6’2” tall, wearing a black Covid type mask, black shorts, blue (navy) t-shirt, black socks, white tennis shoes, and a black or blue ball cap, carrying a black bag, entered Citizens Bank on Main Street and demanded money. The suspect was able to get away with an undetermined amount of cash. Campbellsville Police have shared pictures of the suspect on our Facebook’s page. Occupational Tax Rate Increased by Campbellsville City Council

Campbellsville City Council met Monday and approved an increase in the cities occupational tax rate, the rate will increase a 1% to 1.5%. the increase passed with a vote of 7-4 by council members.
Money generated from the increase will build a new Emergency Services Building, housing Fire, Rescue & EMS.
The building will be constructed on city owned property on the new Campbellsville bypass near Highway 55 New Columbia Road. 

Two People Face Charges of Vandalism at Miller Park

 

 

Campbellsville Police arrested two people on vandalism charges, police say during the early-morning hours of Thursday, July 10th a juvenile and a young adult caused damage to the newly upgraded and remodeled Miller Park by spray painting profanity and racial symbols, police say the two did not take in account that the Miller Park also has updated cameras throughout.

 

After an investigation and after reviewing surveillance footage the two were quickly apprehended and have been charged with felony vandalism. 18-year old Colten T. Gravel of Campbellsville, has been arrested and lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center. He has been charged with: Two Counts of Criminal Mischief, 1st Degree and Two Counts of Unlawful Transaction W/Minor 2nd Degree A male juvenile from Adair County has also been charged with; Two Counts of Criminal Mischief, 1st Degree.
