On Wednesday, November 6, 2025 the Greensburg Police Department executed the arrest of Joshua Gupton and Amelia “Brooke” Gupton on the following charges:

Joshua Gupton:
  • Theft By Unlawful Taking (>$10,000 but <$1,000,000)
  • Fraudulent Use of a Credit or Debit Card over $10,000
  • Abuse of Public Trust (>$10,000 but < $100,000) and
  • Official Misconduct 1st Degree

Amelia “Brooke” Gupton:
  • Theft By Unlawful Taking (>$10,000 but < $1,000,000) and
  • Fraudulent Use of a Credit or Debit Card over $10,000

These arrests follow an extensive investigation conducted by Detective A. Regan of the Greensburg Police Department that resulted in the issuance of an Indictment Warrant by a Green County Grand Jury.

The investigation was initiated on December 19, 2024 after the GPD received a complaint from the current Chief and Treasurer of the Green County Fire Department. Following the installation of newly elected officers, discrepancies were identified in the department’s financial records, prompting the officers to contact GPD for further review.

Through this investigation, it was determined that over a period of nearly 8 years, Joshua Gupton and Amelia “Brooke” Gupton allegedly misused GCFD funds to pay personal expenses and made unauthorized purchases using department bank cards and accounts. The total amount of fraudulent transactions is estimated to exceed $55,000.

The Green County Fire Department has been fully cooperative and provided valuable assistance throughout the investigation.

The Greensburg Police Department reminds the public that an indictment is a formal accusation and does not constitute proof of guilt. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

There will be no further information released in relation to this investigation by the GPD until the conclusion of the Criminal Case.
