High Speed Chase from Campbellsville to Columbia, Man Arrested.

A Mercer County man has been arrested by the Adair County Sheriffs Department on multiple felony charges after vehicle pursuit that started in Taylor County and ended in Adair County.

Sheriff Josh Brockman said the incident began when Campbellsville authorities notified Adair 911 around 8:40 pm Wednesday evening that they were in pursuit of an automobile headed toward Columbia on KY55 north, Campbellsville officials advised that the operator Robert Caines had made threats to kill his wife and was possibly under influence.   

Campbellsville Police terminated their pursuit as it entered into Adair County approximately 3 miles north of Columbia, Brockman told 99.9 The Big Dawg that vehicle was clocked at 100 mph, the pursuit turned onto KY 206 and ended at the 10 mile  marker, The operator Robert Caines age 43 was arrested and lodged in the Adair County Jail without incident . 

Caines is charged with:

fleeing and evading police 1st degree

speeding 26 mph over the limit

wanton endangerment 1st degree 

poss of controlled substance

possession of drug paraphernalia

operating motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol -reckless driving -no insurance

Kentucky State Police Investigates Missing Person and Murder Case in Marion County

LEBANON, Ky. (December 29, 2022) - On the evening of December 23, 2022, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 15 received a complaint of a missing person in Marion County. 

Family members spoke with KSP Troopers and reported that Kevin Thomas Elder, age 56 of Elizabethtown, was missing and he was last known to have been in the Raywick community of Marion County.

The ensuing investigation led KSP to obtain and execute a search warrant on a property and residence belonging to Donald Keith Elders, age 53 of Raywick, on the morning of December 29, 2022.  Information obtained during the execution of the search warrant lead investigators to locate the body of Mr. Elder in an outbuilding on the property.  Mr. Elders was subsequently arrested and charged with Murder and has been lodged in the Marion County Detention Center.

Detective Mike Dubree continues his investigation of this case.  Det. Dubree was assisted by other KSP Post 15 Troopers, KSP Aircraft Branch, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, Marion County Sheriff’s Department, and Marion County Coroner.

Water Being Restored to Parts of Taylor County

After several days of freezing weather Campbellsville Water Company continues to replace busted waterlines that froze due to the extreme weather, several communities in Taylor County have been without water and the Highway 70 area affecting residents to the Casey County line is expected to be restored today. 

 

Josh Pedigo with the city of Campbellsville said his crew has been busy repairing the water lines since the winter weather moved in last week, today water company officials will continue to search for leaks in and around the city and county. 

 

Anyone needing free bottled water can pick it up at the Campbellsville Fire Department and the Taylor County County Fire Department.

Campbellsville Water Company Urges Customers to Conserve Water

Due to many waterline breaks in Campbellsville and Taylor County, the city of Campbellsville is urging all customers to conserve water, the city is also asking area residents to look for waterline breaks and report them to the Campbellsville Water Company at 270-789-3133.

TC RECC Asking Customers To Conserve Electricity

Because of extreme cold temperatures, electric power consumption is approaching record levels, Taylor County RECC is asking consumers to voluntarily reduce the unnecessary use of electricity to alleviate the strain on the electric grid, some ways you can cut your power usage include:  Adjust your thermostat. Shut off non-essential lighting and equipment and avoid using appliances like dishwashers, clothes washers and dryers. If you take these simple steps, it will help everybody. Taylor County RECC is doing everything we can to keep the lights and heat on for all members. We appreciate your assistance in helping us avoid power outages due to too much strain on the grid.

Campbellsville Man Died After Motorcycle Crash on Long Branch Road

A Campbellsville man has died after a motorcycle accident on Long Branch Road in Taylor County, sheriff Allen Newton told 99.9 The Big Dawg that Tyhese C. Moore age 36 of Campbellsville lost control of his 2012 Kawasaki bike and struck a tree Friday afternoon, Moore was not wearing a helmet and transported to University of Louisville Hospital were he died a short time later.

 
The fatal motorcycle mishap was investigated by Corporal Stephen Dobson with the Taylor County Sheriffs Dept.

Fire Alarm In Summersville Saturday Morning

Summersville Fire Department responded a weekend fire alarm, according to Todd Price the alarm sounded at 5:37am Saturday morning to structure fire at 3935 Hodgenville Road in Green County, upon arrival firemen found heavy smoke coming from a garage,  the fire was located and extinguished, seven personnel with one engine were on the scene for an hour.

Taylor County Man Killed in Weekend Accident in LaRue County

A Taylor County man died in a LaRue County accident Saturday morning, 99.9 The Big Dawg news has learn that Fred Krznarich age 84 of Campbellsville lost control of his auto at the intersection of Greensburg Road and Ferrill Hill Road in the Buffalo community, Krznarich was pronounced dead as a result of the fatal Saturday morning mishap. LaRue County Sheriffs Department investigated, Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Man Arrested on Armed Robbery Charges in Adair County

Adair County Sheriffs Office received a complaint of an armed robbery at HWY206 Food Mart Friday afternoon, sheriff Josh Brockman told 99.9 The Big Dawg that a white male  had entered the store wearing a white shirt,hat and glasses the male had a shotgun in his hands demanding money from the register, the suspect fled in a black dodge Dakota last seen on Vester Road with an undetermined amount of money.  

 

Deputy Chandler Staten was able to make a positive ID of suspect during investigation, the man is identified as 24 year old Samuel Ray Burton of  Columbia, sheriff Brockman said that Burton was operating a Black 2004 Dodge Dakota , a warrant for Robbery 1st degree was obtained by sheriffs office for his arrest and around 5:10 pm KSP and Casey County Sheriffs Office initiated  a stop on the suspect vehicle near KY 127 and KY 501 in Casey County.

 

Burton was arrested by deputy Josh Durbin on the Adair warrant for robbery, the shotgun and stolen cash were recovered from the vehicle and the case remains under investigation by K-9 Deputy Chandler Staten. .

Shawn Meininger of Campbellsville is charged with Incest & Sodomy, victim under 12.
 
Ryan T. Neal of Campbellsville, Strangulation & Assault.
 
Chad T. Bagby of Campbellsville, Exploitation of and Adult person.
 
Kenneth Agee of Campbellsville, Burglary & Theft.
 
Justin Sanchez of Campbellsville, Burglary & Criminal Mischief.
 
Herman Richards of Campbellsville, Criminal Mischief. Richards is charged with destroying and apartment in Taylor County.
 
Terry Colvin of Campbellsville, Forgery & Improper Registration on auto.

One Teen Died, One Teen Arrested in LaRue County

On Dec. 3, 2022, at approximately 4:53 a.m., KSP was contacted by the Hodgenville Police Department requesting assistance with an assault investigation near 116 E. Forest Ave in Hodgenville. 

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old, both males, got into an alteration leading to the 17-year-old being shot. The 17-year-old was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where he later died. KSP charged the 15-year-old for the victim's death and he was lodged in the Adair Co. Juvenile Detention Center, further charges could be forthcoming.
