Jimmy Turner, 82, Columbia, KY


Jimmy Turner, 82, of Columbia, KY passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital in Lebanon, Tennessee. He was born on November 19, 1943 in Adair County, KY, a son of the late Edgar Don and Mable Kemp Turner.

 

Jimmy lived a life marked by his faith in the Lord, love of his family, and deep connection to his friends and neighbors. A devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, Jimmy’s commitment extended beyond his family to a long and distinguished career. He was a retired Supervisor at Parker-Kalon, where he worked faithfully for 37 years. His work ethic and leadership touched many lives, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege to know him professionally.

 

Jimmy’s passions reflected a rich and vibrant spirit. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, pursuits that brought him peace and pleasure in the outdoors. He also had a passion for restoring antique cars and trucks, a hobby through which he expressed both patience and creativity. Music was another source of joy, particularly singing gospel songs alongside his wife Linda, a testament to their shared devotion and uplifting faith.

 

Deeply rooted in his beliefs, Jimmy was a founding member of the Point Pleasant Lighthouse Baptist Church, an accomplishment of which he was especially proud. This role demonstrated his commitment to faith and community, guiding and inspiring many throughout his life.

His beloved wife: Linda Alexander Turner

2 daughters: Cindy Turner of Columbia, KY and Jamie Patterson (Kenny) of Knifley, KY

1 cherished granddaughter: Kayli Patterson

2 siblings: Aretha Corbin (Bobby) and Mickey Turner, both of Columbia, KY

Sister-in-law: Sharon Turner of Columbia, KY

 

His family was enriched by his presence, and they carry forward his memory with love and respect.
 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Tom Turner and two half-sisters: Margarite Sneed and Avon Cundiff, whom he remembered fondly.

 

Funeral Service: Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 11:00amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Collison officiating 

 

Burial: Smith-Hutchison Cemetery

 

Visitation: Monday from 4:00-8:00pmCT and Tuesday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home

 

Pallbearers: Kenny Patterson, Kevin Foster, Jimmy Branham, Keith Biggs, James Edmonds, and Brian Alexander

 

Honorary pallbearers: John Edmonds, Joe Edmonds, Chris Delk, Tim Delk and Morgan Stapp.
