Sue Ann Zimmerman, 78, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Russell County Hospital. She was born on May 3, 1947 in Creelsboro, KY, a daughter of the late Rollin and Irene Lawless Shearer.
Sue retired as a food service worker for the Russell County Board of Education, working at Russell County High School as well as other schools. She was a faithful member of the Russell Springs Christian Church. Sue loved old country music and family gatherings, especially Christmas. She was a good cook, bringing many of her home cooked dishes to the family gatherings. Sue will be remembered as being a funny and sassy lady, who deeply loved her family, especially her granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Joe David Zimmerman, who passed away on March 2, 2007; two brothers: Rollin L. Shearer and Jack Shearer; and five sisters: Norma Stearns, Naomi Wooldridge, Nadine Wilson, Debbie Stephens, and Cora Lee Bolin.
Funeral Service: Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 12:00 P.M. at Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs, KY
Burial: Jamestown Cemetery
Visitation: Beginning at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday at Bernard Funeral Home
Special music will be provided by her nephews, Josh Carey and Ryan Stephens.
Pallbearers: Todd Stearns, Nick Shearer, Barry Bolin, Jason Bolin, Caleb Reader, and Jordan Helm
