Terril Meece Stephens, 89, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Russell County Hospital.  He was born on December 18, 1936 in Eli, KY, a son of the late Arlus and Velna Meece Stephens. 

Terril was a proud United States Army veteran, an ironworker, and a retired Kentucky State Police Officer of 25 years achieving the rank of Captain. Terril was also a longstanding member of the Russell Springs United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, Terril was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Jane Coleman Stephens, who passed away September 23, 2025; five brothers: Carl, A.W., David, Terry, and Kent Stephens; as well one sister, Frances Bo Price.

Funeral Service: Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 1:00pmCT at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Ron Sullivan officiating

Interment: Russell Springs City Cemetery with full military honors by the Russell County Honor Guard

Visitation: Beginning at 8:30amCT on Saturday morning

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to God’s Food Pantry. Donations can be left at the funeral home.
