Wilbert "Boss" Blair, 83, Pellyton, KY


Wilbert “Boss” Blair, 83, of Pellyton, KY, a United States Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War, passed away at his home on Friday, January 30th, 2026. He was born on Barnetts Creek in Adair County, KY, a son of the late Elvin and Irene Sanders Blair.

 

Boss was a lifelong farmer, working cattle, tobacco, and produce. He was known for his honesty, hard work, and the best watermelons and cantaloupe in the community. He professed faith in Christ and was a longtime attendee of Barnetts Creek Community Church.

 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Mary Ann Dean Blair and two brothers: Ronald Blair and Bobby Joe Blair.

 

SURVIVORS:

1 daughter: Kimberly Blair Langford & husband David of Somerset

2 sons: James Blair & wife Sheila of Columbia and William Blair of Indiana

4 grandchildren: Kristen Donahue & husband Chad, Andrew Blair & wife Jacinda, Quintin Blair, and Kathryn Blair

4 great-grandchildren: Allie, Halen, Hyson, and Elijah

2 brothers: Winford Blair of Columbia and Charles Blair of Mount Orab, Ohio

Uncle: Stanley Rich of Columbia

Several nieces, nephews, & cousins

 

Funeral Service: Thursday, February 8, 2026 at 11:00amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home

 

Burial: Haven Hill Cemetery

 

Visitation:  Wednesday from 4:00-8:00pm CT and Thursday until time for the service

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Wilbert’s memory to: Hosparus Health Green River www.hosparushealth.org, Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation www.curemeso.org/ or to the National Cancer Institute www.cancer.org.
