John F. Irvin, 90, Russell Springs, KY

 
John F. Irvin, 90, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Monday, November 10, 2025 at Russell County Hospital. He was born on December 5, 1934 in Russell County, a son of the late Ettie Robertson Irvin and Estel Irvin.
 
He was a veteran of the United States Army, a carpenter and member of Coffey Friendship Church. John was an avid golfer, a 4-time state horseshoe pitching champion, and was inducted into the Kentucky State Horseshoe Pitching Hall of Fame in August of 2024. 
 
SURVIVORS:
4 daughters: Vickie Redmon (Roger) of Russell Springs, KY, Belinda Rice (Billy) of Columbia, KY, Lisa Hadley (Steve) of Russell Springs, KY and Donna Willis (Tracy) of Columbia, KY
1 son: John Franklin "Frankie" Irvin (Amy) of Russell Springs, KY
15 grandchildren & a host of great-grandchildren
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Ovalene Bernard, Mary Lou Robertson and Amanda Jane Irvin, and three brothers: Avery, Alvis and Arnet Irvin. 
 
Funeral Service: Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 1:00pmCT at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY with Bro. Garlin Wilson and Bro. Scott Proctor officiating
 
Interment: New Friendship United Baptist Church Cemetery, Russell Springs, KY with military honors performed by the Russell County Honor Guard, of which he was a Charter member
 
Visitation: After 11:00amCT on Saturday at the funeral home
 
Pallbearers: Roger Redmon, Tracy Willis, Steve Hadley, Jason Redmon, Jonathan Irvin and Jacob Irvin
 
Honorary Pallbearers: R.C. Ryan and Danny Hughes
