Charles Arnold Jones, 63, Glens Fork, KY

Charles Arnold Jones, 63, of the Glens Fork community of Adair County, KY passed away on Monday, October 21, 2025 at TJ Samson Hospital in Glasgow. He was the youngest child of Nannie and Leonard Jones.

Charles grew up on his family’s farm in Burlington, North Carolina, surrounded by family and friends who doted on him. Charles was a smart, verbal child never missing an opportunity to be mischievous and full of wit and he continued those traits into adulthood. Charles was baptized as a young child at Jeffries Cross Baptist located in Burlington N.C.

One of his greatest joys was showing kindness and care to those he met. Without a lot of fanfare, it was important for Charles to share with others. He loved cooking and grilling with an end goal of sharing meals with neighbors and friends. For years, he assisted local churches in preparing annual community holiday meals. Several years ago, Charles displayed his downhome culinary skills during a 3-day Thanksgiving feast for family at the Kentucky farm.

Charles was employed by Asplundh Tree and vegetation company for many years earlier in his life. He retired as a certified butcher from FairPlay Meat. After retirement, he enjoyed spending most of his time being outdoors tending to his animals and gardening on the farm.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Dr. Norma Jones, CDR, USN.
