Jerry Tincher, 66, Columbia, KY

 

Jerry Tincher, 66, of Columbia, KY passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was born October 11, 1958 in Hamilton, Ohio, a son of Alene Powell Tincher and the late Thurman Tincher.

 

Jerry was a proud veteran, having formerly served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp. He also worked as a Lieutenant with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Jerry enjoyed traveling, planting and raising a large garden, and smoking meats for family meals. He also took great pride in tending his farm. Jerry loved his family and spending time with them was always important. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and attended Purdy Separate Baptist Church.

 

SURVIVORS:

His beloved wife: Gayle Roy Tincher of Columbia

3 sons: John Tincher of Las Vegas, Nevada, G.W. (Tabitha) Cundiff of Crab Orchard, and Cody (Makenzie) Cundiff of Science Hill

1 daughter: Ashley Cheeney of Virginia

His mother: Alene Tincher of Salt Springs, Florida

3 brothers: Gordon (Kathy) Tincher of Groveland, Florida, Mike (Wanda) Tincher of Ocoee, Florida, and Larry (Laurie) Tincher of Columbia

1 sister: Sherry (Ray) Willard of Fort McCoy, Florida

8 grandchildren: Ty White, Clayton Cundiff, Cassidy Cundiff, Trey Cundiff, Bennett Mays, Ellie Kate Mays, Travis Tincher, and Jaxson Cheeney

A host of nieces & nephews

 

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Tincher.

 

Funeral Service: Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 10:00amCT at Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs, KY with Bro. Avery Russell, Bro. Richie Curtis, and Bro. Randy Brown officiating

 

Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery with military honors provided by DAV Chapter 51

 

Visitation: Friday, October 3, 2025 from 5:00pm-8:00pmCT and Saturday beginning at 8:00amCT at the funeral home

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Disabled American Veterans.  These donations can be left at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers: Ty White, Clayton Cundiff, Trey Cundiff, Bennett Mays, Kandyn Slagle, Cassidy Cundiff, Ruby Bratcher, and Ellie Kate Mays
