Charles Giles, 90, Columbia, KY

 

Charles Giles, 90, of Columbia, KY died Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. He was born July 21, 1935 in Adair County, a son of the late Thomas Van Giles and Thelma Irene Dixon Hopkins.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nadine Rich Giles on November 4, 2014.

 

Charles was a member of Trinity Church, a U.S. Army Veteran and a well-respected successful businessman in Adair County, owning G&G Motors, a farm implement dealership for 44 years.

 

SURVIVORS:

His wife: Gayle Garrison of Columbia

1 son & daughter-in-law: Dr. Chuck & Melissa Giles of Columbia

4 grandchildren: Chaz Giles (Samantha), Dr. Van Giles (Karli), Baylor Giles and Clay Giles

4 great-grandchildren: Josie Nae Giles, Charlie Freeborn Giles, Kip Stephen Giles and Guy Ellis Giles

1 brother: Dee Giles of Florida

2 sisters: Frances Reynolds of Columbia and Judy Jones of Brownstown, Indiana

Gayle’s children: Amy Mitchum (Mike) and James Garrison (Paula); her grandchildren: Michael Mitchum (Tiffany), Mary Burton (Levi), Kayla Jones (Trent), Clint Garrison (Savannah); her 9 great-grandchildren & 3 great-great grandchildren

Funeral service: Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Church with Bro. Steve Pescosolido officiating

 

Burial: Haven Hill Cemetery

 

Visitation: Friday after 4:00 P.M. and Saturday from 6:00 A.M. until 8:30 A.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, and after 9:00 A.M. Saturday at Trinity Church

 

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to Trinity Church which can be left at the funeral home or the church

 

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
