George Caldwell, Sr., 99, Cane Valley, KY

 

George Caldwell, Sr., 99, of the Cane Valley community of Adair County, KY died Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 10:19 A.M. at his home. He was born December 2, 1925 in Coburg to the late Tommie and Susie Kate Smith Caldwell.  
 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Robinson Caldwell; a son, George Caldwell, Jr.; and a grandson, Marcus Caldwell.

 

Mr. Caldwell was a member and Deacon at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, a retired Dairy Farmer,  a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in World War II, a former member of the Conservation Board and a member of the Dairyman's Association.

 

SURVIVORS

4 sons: Michael Caldwell (Donna) of Campbellsville, Gregory Caldwell of Columbia, Randall Caldwell of Louisville, and Stephen Caldwell of Columbia

7 daughters: Rose Ella Jones of Campbellsville, Patricia Caldwell of Columbia, Clara Etta McCarty of Indianapolis, Indiana, Marilyn Caldwell Taylor (Ronald) of Perrysburg, Ohio, Carolyn Caldwell, Teressa Caldwell and Angela Caldwell all of Lexington

23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren & 26 great-great grandchildren

 

Funeral Service: Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. (Central Time) at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Curle delivering the Eugoly

 

Burial: Bridgewater-Groves-Caldwell Cemetery in Green County with full military honors by V.F.W. Post 6097

 

Visitation: 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home and after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the Church. There will no visitation at the funeral home on Saturday.
