Jimmie Ray Varney, 83, of Bowling Green, KY was called to his Heavenly home on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky. He was born on September 3, 1941 to the late Garland and Lola (Bostic) Varney, in Pike County, KY.
Jimmie was a retired coal miner from Eastern Kentucky. He loved to read the Bible and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda (Ramey) Varney; and three brothers: Tommy, Leroy and Eugene.

4 children: Carmen (Greg) Purpus, Brian (Carol) Varney, Lynetta (Rick) Stiltner, and LaWanda (Mike) May
4 brothers: Garland, Jr., Ivan, Julius, and Bruce
3 sisters: MaryJane, Gail, and June
8 grandchildren, 2 step-grandsons, 11 great-grandchildren, & 3 step-great-grandsons

Burial: Jamestown Cemetery
Visitation: Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 5:00pm-8:00pmCT and Sunday after 8:00amCT at the funeral home
