James Allen Coomer, 85, of Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia. He was born in Adair County, KY on September 25, 1938 to the late Marvin and Avis Wilson Coomer. 

Mr. Coomer was a member of the Trinity Church and a retired farmer. He was the former owner and operator of Gradyville Country Store, a school bus driver and worked for over 10 years at First National Bank in Columbia. He enjoyed riding horses, going to the stock market and spending time with his family and friends.

1 brother: Larry Coomer (Jennifer) of Campbellsville, KY

3 nephews & a niece: Todd Coomer, Troy Coomer, Roger Pickett, and Patricia Willis

Sister-in-law: Arzola Coomer of Louisville, KY

Step sister-in-law: Linda Brock of Columbia, KY

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Carl, Holland and Tulsa Coomer and two sisters: Cymbaline Coomer and Genola Ripley.

Funeral Service: Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 1:30pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Pescosolido officiating

Burial: Haven Hill Cemetery

Visitation: Saturday from 4:00-8:00pmCT and Sunday until time for the service
