Command Sergeant Major Olbie Giftel Foley, 90, of Russell Springs, KY passed away, Saturday, August 17, 2024 at his residence. He was born February 7, 1934 in Russell County, a son of the late Loren and Flossie Wilson Foley. 

Olbie was a US Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam and earning a Bronze Star and Combat Medic Badge. He proudly served his country for over 30 years.

SURVIVORS:

3 daughters: Theresa Smith, Lisa (Will) Coleman, and Donna Foley

4 grandchildren: Jason Smith, Renee (Wade) Daffron, Jennifer Stephens, and Joshua (Katina) Kershaw  

11 great-grandchildren

In addition to his parents, Olbie was preceded in death by his wife, Annelies Foley; a grandson, Michael Paul Kershaw; multiple brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 12:00pmCT at Bernard Funeral Home. 

Burial: Mill Springs National Cemetery with full military honors performed by Russell County Honor Guard

Visitation: After 10:00amCT on Tuesday

Pallbearers: Will Coleman, Wade Daffron, Jr. Smith, Jason Smith, Josh Kershaw, and Drake Daffron
