Earl Morrison Coffey, 86, Columbia, KY

 

Earl Morrison Coffey, 86, of Columbia, KY passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024 at his residence. He was born on September 18, 1937 in Montpelier, KY to the late Holland C. and Zelma Morrison Coffey.

 

Mr. Coffey was a member of the former Pleasant Hill Christian Church and most recently attended the Russell Springs Christian Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Berlin Crisis of 1961. He was a member of the Adair County Cattlemen’s Association and enjoyed farming and spending time with his family and friends.

His wife: Marilyn Sparks Coffey of Montpelier, KY

1 son: Shannon “Radar” Coffey (Michelle) of Franklin, IN

2 grandchildren: Alexis Carrillo (Justin) and Sawyer Coffey

1 great-grandchild: Rory Carrillo;

4 siblings: Gene Coffey (Lillie) of Louisville, KY, Carl Coffey (June) of Shepherdsville, KY, Ina Smith of Louisville, KY, and Guinda Miller (Bobby) of Columbus, OH

Sister-in-law: Ada Coffey of Columbia, KY

Several nieces & nephews

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Norman Coffey; a sister, Shirley Holt and her husband Orvil; and a brother-in-law, Lowell Smith.

Burial: Haven Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 6097
