Obituaries

Warren Harding

 

Warren Harding “Buck” Perkins, 102, of Columbia, KY passed away Monday, August 7, 2023 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center Hospice Care in Lexington, KY. He was born in Knifley, KY on May 2, 1921 to the late Harry and Martha Gumm Perkins.

 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Dulworth Perkins and two sisters: Anna Holt & husband Marvin, and Pat Nance.

 

Mr. Perkins was of the Christian faith and attended the Mt. Carmel Church. He was a former part Owner and Manager of Holmes Bend Marina and a very active member of the community serving on various committees and organizations. Mr. Perkins was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends.

 

SURVIVORS:

2 children: Tim Perkins (Carla) of Columbia, KY and Lana Perkins Mata of Jamestown, TN

2 grandsons: Byron Irvin of Russell Springs, KY and Jordan Perkins of Columbia, KY

2 great-grandsons: Byron & Jacob

Several nieces & nephews

 

Funeral Service: Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 1:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with 

 

Burial: Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Military Honors provided by VFW Post 6097

 

Visitation: Wednesday from 10:00am-1:00pmCT at the funeral home


In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mt. Carmel Cemetery fund and can be left at the funeral home.

 

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
