James Neal McGowan, 78, of Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Columbia, KY on August 25, 1944 to the late J.C. and Frances Moss McGowan.

Jimmy was a member of the Columbia Christian Church and an avid fisherman. The loves of his life were his wife of 52 years, his children, and grandchildren.

2 children: Cortney Neal Mooney (Charles) of Columbia, KY and Kyle Grant McGowan (Lindsay) of Jeffersonville, IN

6 grandchildren: Colby Cowan (Charity), Katelyn Cowan, Case Cowan, Clay Mooney, Molly McGowan, and Sebastian Farmer

2 great-grandchildren: Cora and Layne Cowan

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frankie McGowan and a sister, Beverly Lane.

Visitation: Friday from 4:00-8:00pmCT and Saturday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home
