IRVIN RAY CLAYWELL, 82, COLUMBIA, KY

 

Irvin Ray Claywell, 82, of Columbia, KY passed away Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort, KY. He was born in Breeding, KY on April 15, 1940 to the late Otis and Ruby Branham Claywell.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Watson Claywell; a stepson, Raymond Watson; and a brother, Lyman Claywell.

 

Mr. Claywell was a member of the Hadley Community Church. He was an avid University of Kentucky sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

 

SURVIVORS:

3 children: Gina Schaal (Brandon) of Columbia, KY, Wade Claywell of The Colony, TX and Michael Claywell (Jan) of Lewisville, TX

7 grandchildren: Elizabeth Colley, Matthew Lee (Shelbee), Tanner Claywell (Caitlin), Tonya Rapp (Ben), Jessica Claywell, Claudia Perez (James), and Joseph Claywell

7 great-grandchildren (& one on the way)

5 siblings: Lyla Kimbler of Oklahoma, Elaine Replogle of Ohio, Doyle Claywell (Mary Elizabeth) of North Carolina, Leon Claywell (Margaret) of Bardstown, KY, and Janice Tudor of Ohio

Several nieces & nephews

 

Funeral Service: Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11:00amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Elbert Hadley officiating

 

Burial: Fudge Cemetery

 

Visitation: Friday from 4:00-8:00pmCT and Saturday morning until time for the service at the funeral home

 

Pallbearers: Joseph Claywell, Tanner Claywell, Brandon Schaal, Rich West, Scott West, Ben Rapp, and Lucas Hadley

 

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
