Byron Wyatt Hixson, 73, of Columbia, KY died Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 3:25 P.M. at his home. He was born August 10, 1949 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Leroy and Minnie Thompson Hixson. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Judy Ann Neat Hixson; one brother, Ronald Hixson; and three sisters: Wilma Johnson, Vera Davenport, Euna Cravens.

Byron was retired from the Adair County Regional Jail, enjoyed playing golf, playing cards with friends, horse racing and spending time with family and friends.

1 daughter: Marsha Hixson of Columbia

2 sons: Barry Hixson (Angie) of Columbia, Gary Hixson (Dana) of Knifley

3 grandsons: Will Hixson (Emma), Jake Hixson (Callee), Brady Hixson (Kendyl Hardin)

1 granddaughter: Chloe Hixson

2 great-grandsons: Roman Hixson and Baker Hixson

Brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Dallas and Sheila Neat, Jeff and Rita Neat all of Columbia, Dewayne and Rhonda Neat of Russell Springs

Funeral Service: Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Don Neat officiating

Burial: New Hope Cemetery

Visitation: After 10:00 A.M. Wednesday

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to the New Hope Cemetery Fund and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
