Carrie Lee Kerns, 69, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY with her family by her side. She was born February 10, 1953 in Cleveland, OH to the late Loe and Leona Bailey Smith.

Carrie enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Kerns and three brothers: Larry, Eddie, and Tommy Smith.

Her husband: Joe Kerns of Russell Springs, KY

2 sons: Joe Kelly Kerns (Melissa) of Richmond, KY and Matthew Kerns (Keri) of Hiseville, KY

5 grandchildren: Caleigh, Hunter, Sydney, Ava, and Sawyer Kerns

2 siblings: Gary Smith (Joann) of Columbia, KY, and Katherine Poulan (Jerry) of Augusta, GA

Funeral Service: Monday, January 16, 2023 at 1:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Richie Curtis officiating

Burial: Kerns Cemetery

Visitation: Sunday from 4:00-8:00pmCT and Monday morning until time for service

Pallbearers: Eric Kerns, Keith Kerns, Hunter Kerns, Steven Kerns, Kennedy McFarland, and Tony Kerr  

Honorary Pallbearers: Sawyer Kerns, Carl Mings, Kyle McFarland, and Clint Smith
