Melvin Douglas Bruce, 69, of Columbia, KY passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was born on January 28, 1953 in Clarksville, IN to the late John Wendell and Ruby Harvey Bruce.

Mr. Bruce enjoyed kayaking, fishing and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

2 children: Melissa Ann Bruce McKalvia (Patrick) of Calhoun, GA and Josh Bruce (Bethany) of Columbia, KY

8 grandchildren: Jordan, Matthew and Kaylee Ann Perkins and Mia, Keaton, Leightyn, Gwyn and Parker Bruce

2 great-grandchildren: Cameryn and Blakleigh Perkins

Several nieces & nephews

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings: Catherine Elizabeth Polston, Wendell Lee Bruce, and John Earl Bruce.

Funeral Service: Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 1:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Wes Ellis officiating

Burial: Bearwallow Cemetery

Visitation: Wednesday from 4:00-8:00pmCT and Thursday until time for the service
