Wendell Burton, 71, of Columbia, KY died Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born on October 11, 1950 in Adair County to the late Lether and Ruthie Bryant Burton. 

Wendell had professed his faith in Christ and dedicated his life to his farm, helping his neighbors and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

He married the late Helen Faye Kemp Burton on June 26, 1970.

4 children Suzanna Streeval (Tony), Rodney Burton (Ashley), Cagney Burton and Kayla Hagedorn (Vince) all of Columbia, KY

8 grandchildren: Leslie, Sarah and Lily Streeval, Ethan, Audra and Asher Burton and Jake and Levi Hagedorn

1 brother: Onda Wayne Burton of Columbia, KY

Several nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Baylee Fayth Hagedorn; 6 brothers: Joseph, Zenith, Jimmy, Ronald “Moonbeam”, Gobbel, and Minnie; and 2 sisters: Katie McKinney and Wanda Burton.

Funeral Service: Monday, July 11, 2022 at 11:00amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Ralph Foster officiating

Burial: Bearwallow Cemetery

Visitation: Sunday from 4:00-8:00pmCT and on Monday morning until time for the service

Pallbearers: Dewayne McKinney, Greg Burton, Donnie Burton, Jimmy Bailey, Larry Burton and Mark Redman
