Elmer Russell Powell, 52, of the Portland community of Adair County died Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 3:43 A.M. at his home. He was born June 7, 1969, in Adair County to the late Ray and Inez Edrington Powell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles “Goo” Powell.

Elmer was formerly employed at Cox Interior, a farmer and enjoying fishing.

1 daughter: Shelby Powell of Columbia

2 brothers: Gary Powell (Doris) and William Powell (Jamie) both of Columbia

3 sisters: Juanita Benningfield (Jr) of Campbellsville, Kathy Sullivan (Guinn) of Raywick, & Judy Sebastian of Glasgow

Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Funeral service: Friday, March 4, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Stanley Watson officiating

Burial: Bearwallow Cemetery

Visitation: After 10:00 A.M. Friday

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
