Cosby Powell, 86, of Louisville, KY died Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Norton Hosparus Inpatient Unit in Louisville. He was born April 10, 1935 in Adair County, KY to the late Olen and Emma Lena Burton Powell. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Powell; 5 brothers: Raymond, Gilbert, Robert Lee, Ray and Lloyd “Tub” Powell; and 2 sister, Ruth Tress.

Cosby served his Country in the U.S. Navy, was a member of American Legion Shawnee Post 193 in Louisville and a former store manager for Speedway.

1 daughter & son-in-law: Angela and Scott Riley of Louisville

2 sons: Rick Powell of Louisville and Steve Powell of New Albany, Indiana

5 grandchildren: Gage Riley & wife Autumn, Branden Riley & wife Taylor, Jacob Powell, Shane Powell and Angel Wiggers, all of Louisville

2 great-grandchildren: Gabe Riley and Baylei Powell

Funeral service: Friday, January 28, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Conover officiating

Burial: Bearwallow Cemetery with full military honors presented by V.F.W. Post 6097

Visitation: After 11:00 A.M. Friday
